Israel wants to bleed Hamas of money, support, soldiers, leadership and the will to fuck with Israel again.


Plus, with the unfortunate suffering of innocent Palestinians, the Palestinians will hopefully not allow Hamas safe haven inside Gaza and will hopefully allow those in Gaza to find ways to keep this from ever happening again.


If Israel could avoid killing innocent people, they would. But those innocent Palestinians have allowed Hamas to flourish within Gaza.

Israelis formed their own state so as to live free of harassment, murder and attempted extermination.

We know that unless something changes there is no such guarantee. I don’t hear many people arguing that Hamas should be tolerated. On the other hand, mass civilian casualties or flooding other countries with refugees is also unacceptable and could provoke a catastrophic, wider war. If the US wanted to solve this problem one avenue that is not being tried as far as we know is to pressure Qatar, a major funder of Hamas, into influencing the group. I find it curious that Qatar’s backing of Hamas has escaped media scrutiny in the West. Seems they get a pass for hosting a US military base.
