Why are the French incapable of defending themselves and always need others to save them?

I know what France owes to the heroes from America, the UK and elsewhere. I could never forget that.


But France has known war on its soil. In the First World War, France lost 1.5 million dead, out of a population of barely 40 million.


And in the Second World War, France lost 541,000 dead. Our soldiers fought bravely, notably at Dunkirk, and the German army lost more panzers in May 40 against France than at the great battle of Kursk.


And what does this mean if I translate it in its human truth, as my family experienced it? That my great-grandfather who died, that the more than one million French dead in these two world wars, were cowards? Is that what they were when they were shot at? Cowards? Monsieur, words have meaning, except to those who use them as you do.


But I also want to say this:


France is not only a country that has suffered from war. It is also a country that has contributed to peace, freedom, culture, science and humanity. It's the country of human rights, of the Universal Declaration, of the French Revolution, of the Resistance, of the French-speaking world. It's the land of Voltaire, Hugo, Pasteur, Curie, Saint-Exupéry, De Gaulle, Zidane, Joan of Arc, Napoleon and Clemenceau. This is the land of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre-Dame, Mont-Saint-Michel, the Côte d'Azur, gastronomy, wine and cheese. It's the country that has inspired so many artists, writers, musicians, film-makers, thinkers and dreamers from all over the world.
I'm proud to be French, an open country. A country that respects others, but also demands respect.


Monsieur, I invite you to get to know France better, its history, its culture, its people. Perhaps then you'll change your mind about her. Perhaps then you'll understand why so many people love her. Maybe then, you'll love it too.

French have always been too busy maintaining there lifestyle and luxury and never prioritised building there army.
French are a creature of comfort who care more about cuisine, apparels, beauty, luxury, and everything fantasy.
