Firstly it's important to remember that there were NO borders until around the 1900's. You could pretty much move wherever you liked. After the world wars it became more important for territories to be marked and citizens to have passports detailing their citizenship.

However, the right of people to seek asylum, and the privilege of the rich to be able to get "golden waves" into a country were enshrined in law.

You cannot be a democracy if you don't give people the right to asylum or to pay their way into your country.

Our borders are older than women getting the right to vote.

You cannot have a country if you do not have borders in this day and age. You will be flooded with migrants and lose your cultural identity.

America's love of free speech? That would be lost if we just let in migrants willy-nilly.

I think America should be very picky with who we let in and make it very clear to people that coming into this country is not a right.

And also America is not a democracy, it is a democratic republic. We elect people to vote for us and they do a rather poor job of it!

Yep. Ask a family in Tokyo how much room they have. Average apartment is 700sqft, and your parents/inlaws may be living there as well. Afghanistan? Good chance there's 15 or so people under that roof. In the list of Top 20 countries' apartment sizes by sqft, number 20 is UK at 826sqft. Think of all the remaining countries that didn't even make that as a benchmark.

Our elites (may they be cleared out) simply don’t care about this sort of question. They took a country and turned it into an empire both abroad and at home. They seek to rule the globe and mix and homogenize all people (except for themselves) to destroy any cohesive culture that could act as a node of resistance against their global government. They love cheap labor and they also despise the old-stock Americans and seek to drive their numbers into irrelevance through mass immigration.
