How would you get boys to grow up knowing how not to treat girls and women around them?

I ask because even though it's supposed to be basic knowledge, you still read about girls and women being harassed or abused or assaulted daily online.

I don’t know. Maybe set a good example to your son by never talking badly of women or treating them poorly even those you don’t know like people on tv politicians etc, treat his mother sisters grandmas etc with full respect and love always and expect the same from your son, only allow your son around men who are good examples, don’t allow them to be friends with boys who have bad attitudes or behavior and explain why and how it could affect him if he was, establish expectations that if he treats anyone poorly you’ll be very disappointed, encourage empathy and talk about how others are affected by their behaviour, if they do behave badly towards others especially girls then make sure there are consequences for that, never excuse any sort of behavior with ”boys will be boys” or ”he just likes you/her”, have deep talks about women and relationships and what expectations on him as a man is but also what he should expect back from his partner so he can recognize when a woman or relationship is bad or toxic and not worth it. Continue to deep talks when he’s in a relationship or started dating so you can continue to guide him of what to do when any issues come up.

The most powerful tool in teaching boys how to be good men who treat women well is a good father who teaches them and sets a good example. Unfortunately, far too many children are raised without fathers today, and single mothers are simply incapable of raising boys to be good, strong men.
