+1 yBecause "man" and "woman" are the points of comparison that we use to describe transgender people. Adding "cis" to describe the standard we're going by is unnecessary. The way languages typically work is that you add modifiers to describe things that a different from the commonly understood meaning. I'm not adding any additional clarity to a sentence by saying a man was born a man. There has never been any reason assume anything different before in human history. However, if the person I'm calling a man wasn't actually born a man, that distinction deviate our understanding of language, so the modifier becomes necessary to understand who I'm talking about.
Using "cis" to describe someone who was born a man or woman is a little bit like using the term "hoof horse" to describe the biological animal we know as horses, simply because we use the term "horsepower" to talk about how strong an engine is.
If someone said that they were riding their horse today, you wouldn't be confused. You might be a little confused if someone said they were riding 300 horses, but your confusion would happen because engines are fundamentally different from horses. We have the word "car" to describe the device we use when we are being transported around by engine power.

u +1 yBecause it's a made-up word for what in living memory of most people was just a man or a woman. It exists because of transgenderism, which is a mental disorder. I feel great sorrow for those who have been confused about who they are, but they don't get to put a byproduct of that confusion on me.
Furthermore, the definition of "cisgender" is "noting or relating to a person whose gender identity corresponds with that person’s sex assigned at birth." That is one of the most ludicrous things I've ever heard in my life. Sex is not "assigned at birth". It is established at conception. The sperm and the egg don't ask each other's (or the parents') opinion as to whether they should conceive a male or a female. They either conceive a male or a female.
And call me crazy, a conspiracy theorist, call me whatever you want. I think that part of "cisgender" is a long-term intent to get future generations to view mankind through an LGBT scope and to then retcon all of human history to be read in that same light.
Plus, do some research on Volkmar Sigusch, who first coined the term "cisgender". To call him and John Money and Alfred Kinsey deranged, perverted, degenerate, psychopatic lunatics doesn't even come close to accurately describing them. There are no words in any human language that can.

It's just a grotesque ideology post-modernism squirted into human history, it'll pass in the long run, but these people right now are not gonna see that anytime soon
You should also note that, usually, the thing that fuels these ideologies is just a very select group of people who live on its propaganda. Like there are literally people who are LGBTQ+ activists as a profession, all their life is revolving around this ideology.
That is why, an actor, Tom Hardy in a press conference, is asked about his sexuality by a suppsedly reporter of LGBT News Organisation, asking him whether Hollywood actors are afraid to talk about their sexuality.
Hardy's response was golden though. They're so out of touch with reality, they can't even fathom people not making their sexuality their entire identity.

This is one of the best replies I’ve ever heard to this question. Well done, Darklydarkened.
There are people who want to be referred to with their preferred pronouns. Their peferred pronouns. They don't want you or I assigning them pronouns. The people who don't want to be called "cis" don't want to be assigned labels not of their choosing either. A lot of people don't want to be dragged into all that. I don't care what you want to be called, or want to call yourself. I don't care how you live or what you do. All I ask is that you leave me out of it.

+1 yNot sure. I used to refer to myself as cis all of the time, but I don't anymore. Unlike everyone else in the comments I didn't see it as a slur or anything. It was just how trans people referred to those who are biologically (and identify exclusively) men & women.

When you are out in public there is already an established decorum you are expected to abide by. You speak the language of the country you live in or are a guest of in order to communicate effectively with the local population. You keep your ebonics and homonese at home with your friends in your subculture. When you speak the wrong language to people out in public, you’re only screwing yourself over and missing opportunities that might have been available to you if you were a team player. If you want to be on the outside and act retarded, then don’t expect anyone to take you serious.

+1 yBecause people are sick and tired of this forced gender fantasy game. There are only two genders -- male and female. There are no other genders. Every cell in your body contains the DNA that indicates your biological gender regardless of what you imagine yourself to be. Every person remains the same gender they were born for the rest of their lives.
If you want to play imaginary games about your gender, or have some kind of mental illness about it that's your business and I'm sorry for you, but when you try to make me go along with your fantasy, that's my business and I refuse to do so. People are sick of this passive aggressive game.

+1 yBecause 97% of the world is already “cis” and we didn’t need a word made up by a minority and forced upon us. It also doesn’t help that “non-cis” people and their “ally’s” like to use it in a disparaging way to insult and bully people.

When you say I'm a man, you also say that you're no transgender
There's no need to create an identity, as if the out of the norm can also be called norm
There're two genders, and trans people are, as name suggests, those who have transitioned from their biological gender
Because it's unnecessary to use a word that fits 99% of the population. Man and women is all that's required

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yBecause it's cis-tarded. Men are men and women are women. They are words that have definitions that have been in use for millennia. They are statements of biological SEX. They are the standard (i. e., NORMAL) and therefore do not require any further explanation. The exceptions (i. e., NOT normal) do require explanation. Therefore if you have an individual with the SEX of a man but who wants to LIVE as a woman, that person is referred to as a TRANS WOMAN. That's a thing. It's different from an ACTUAL woman which is a person with the SEX of a woman who wants to live as a woman. That person is referred to as "woman."

+1 yBecause it's a disgusting term. I'm a man. It's what I've been called my entire life. This cisgender shit only came about recently with the generation wave of mental illness where people think they're entitled to be treated like whatever they call themselves as. I heard of a case when a mother took her daughter to the doctor and both the daughter and mother said she identified as a cat. Like how the fuck does a doctor deal with that shit?
10 Reply 701 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I guess most of them have no idea what it means.
Other than that they want to decide for themselve how to be called. Ironically that those who say that are mostly transphobic, while supporting a basic lgbtq opinion.
So yes all in all they have no idea what they are talking about.😅11 Reply- +1 y
No, it's a slur that's used almost exclusively in a degrading fashion by the people that have created an issue where there was none. They also use a more blatant version, "Cissy". They are Wrong.
There is no logical need for an Empty Prefix:
"Being Trans" is a deviation from the norm, so it requires a prefix: non "Trans" people do not deviate from the norm, so a prefix here has no linguistic reason to exist; the true purpose for this word is to Other the target and highlight they are an out-group in a negative fashion.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yCis was a term invented by a prolific child rapists and pedophile.. And as someone who. Is a NORMAL man, I refuse to let a minority group control my speech. It's insulting.. And if you wish to use it that's on you.. But those of us who are rational thinking people who see it for what it is refuse to use it and see it as an insult well guess what.. It's an insult.

81 ReplyHow many fingers do you have, the mode (most frequently occuring number) would be ten, but the average number of fingers in the human population is not ten as some have polydactyly and some are missing fingers. So how would you like it that every time you went to buy gloves online or so, they ask you how many fingers you have?
00 ReplyI didn't read all the comments, but I agree with Yabbut.
Personally I also don't really like how close it sounds to "sissy" or "sis" (as in sister). I think it's a weird word regardless.
Isn't "cis" the same thing as "straight"? I forget. If it is, why not just say "straight"?

And it's 99% of the population, so let's stay with men and women, and transgender. And everything is clear.
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yBecuase there's no point. Man and woman used to be synonymous with males and females that are adult age.
However our culture is trying to force us to believe that sex and gender are separate things and that gender is nothing more than a set of behaviors not specific to the sex someone is.
Not to mention that someone not exhibiting the same gendered behavior as what their sex is is proof that they are "trapped in the wrong body" which sounds like something a schizophrenic would say.

+1 yIt implies that my gender needs a qualifier when in reality it does not because trans "women" are not women and trans "men" are not men. They also use it in some sort of bizarre derogatory fashion as if there is something wrong with me because I didn't cut my dick off. Anyone who unironically uses this term is woke and I despise those people.
00 Reply 11.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It's unnecessary. It's the baseline, it doesn't need extra terms or additions to man and woman.

Yes, and everyone that has basic common sense knows they are not and that they are a man who is choosing to live their life as a woman. They take hormones and changed their name. They are still a man living their life as a woman. They aren't nor will they ever by a "REAL" woman. You are born a man or woman. You don't choose to become one or other.
