I think Richard Ramirez is spot on here. People don't retain from killing because of their morals, they refrain from killing because they don't wanna get life in prison or the electric chair. If you study history and even current events, you will see that humans are NOT peaceful civilized creatures.

I read a story about a Brazilian serial killer who only got 10 years. Of course Brazil's murder rate is so high if people have nothing to lose.

No, I do not agree. Even if I could easily get away with it, I wouldn't murder someone. I'm just not like that, and if anyone responds to this comment with something like, "Oh, but you're evolutionarily wired to be violent and kill, and 'survival of the fittest' and all that jazz...", well you can just GO TO HELL! That's where you're destined anyway if you actually believe that shit!
