He wrote a book which will make him famous in 1919 "The political consequences of peace" where he criticizes the Treaty of Versailles and where he announces twenty years in advance how the errors of judgment of the victors will lead to the Second World War. He heralded the entire interwar period: the advent of Hitler, the Anschluss, the invasion of Czechoslovakia, the German-Soviet pact, the aggression against Poland and the new European war that followed.
