Jacques Bainville, man of extraordinary intelligence, political journalist born in 1879, he is often considered an "ultra-nationalist" and monarchist.

He wrote a book which will make him famous in 1919 "The political consequences of peace" where he criticizes the Treaty of Versailles and where he announces twenty years in advance how the errors of judgment of the victors will lead to the Second World War.
