Isn't it 67 now? I won't have to worry about it as I believe the Rapture is near and I have over 30 years until I can retire. By then there may not be any Social Security either.
Yes they will. Anyone born again during the Tribulation will be persecuted and executed. But those Raptured, alive or dead, will not go through the Tribulation.
LOL.. no. Christians in the 1st century were persecuted and killed and even now some christians in some parts of the world are persecuted and killed for their faith in Christ yet you think living your comfortable American life that God is going to sweep you right into paradise without you going through religious persecution because you happen just to be born in a country that has laws to protect religious freedoms? LOL
If you want to believe Christ is coming at any moment then go ahead and believe that false doctrine.
70 seems a little much, I could see 67 or maybe even 68. I get why the urgency of this but it seems there must be a better way to fix social security and Medicare.
A natural reaction to: (1) increasing life expectancy (in the 1960s it would’ve been early 70s, now it’s early 80s), and (2) declining population growth that jeopardizes the solvency of social safety systems and some workforces.
My parents are in their sixties and they are pretty healthy and strong. I think it is actually a good idea. Though it would be nice if more older people would retire so it would be easier for younger people to find work.
It's not needed. Total BS the media and politicians sell people.
America has givin several billions just to Ukraine alone in one year, spended several billions of social security to fund useless wars in the middle east for 2 decades.
And I guarantee you if America needed to come up with a package of 100 billion dollars by 5PM today for an emergency they will get it done but when it comes to helping our own citizens they never have money for it.
Good Lord, NO!!! I have Seen Those at 65, GO!!! xxoo

It's inevitable. People are living longer, so they are going to require more healthcare for longer periods of time. By making people work longer, you collect more tax revenue that goes to pay for the extended healthcare.
And by the time it actually goes into effect, the average life span won't be 77. It will be in the 80s.
@strateguy632: Sad you been brainwashed to the point you think staying active means being at a job for a company. Smh
A person can stay active at the gym, doing fun things with their wife and children, grandchildren like fishing or volunteering 1 or 2 hours for the community.
Home > Society & Politics > Questions > Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis wants to raise the retirement age to most likely 70? What do you think raising the retirement age to 70?

There's no rapture at any moment. Don't get your theology from Hollywood movies.

Sweetie, the Bible doesn't teach such.
The Lord Jesus Christ clearly said He comes (for the second time) after the tribulation to gather His elect not before.
Look it up yourself in Matthew 24.
For the 2nd time means the 2nd coming during the Battle of Armagedden.

They don't have to raise it the state of the economy is liable to keep vast majority of Americans working until they literally die mid shift.
I wonder how long it’ll take people to realize that social security is a literal Ponzi scheme and was destined to fail from the start.

It's the only way to make Social Security not look like as much of a scam besides just getting rid of it entirely.
Roosevelt set 65 due to life expectancy then. Its now 10 years plus longer. Over time, a higher age will be set to keep SS solvent.
I think they should be tarred, feathered, and ran out of town.
calm down, people SHOULD have routine and MORE urgent as body ages.
since they set 65 we live longer. times change. nikki can do no wrong!

It's good that neither of them are going to be president then.
I already prepared my kids that their retirment age will be 99 🤣
Fuck them. They need to get spending out of control, and lower taxes. Not force me to work more.
speaking of spending guess how deep biden added to debt? since trump time 22t now OVER 33 trillion. more than EVEN obama added from 9t to 17 t.
It is needed because Americans dont want to reproduce. The same in all other developed countries except Israel

Ok, and what that has to do with a pensioner's strategic plan?
Life's a bitch then you die or as The Verve says, you are a slave to money, then you die. You can't have it any other way.

I guess in Germany, they will one day.. actualy is 67 years
Glad that I am already collecting my retirement! I do pity the younger generation that are paying for something that they may not ever benefit from!
working from the grave
grave? life expectancy in u. s. is over 80 so BETTER to stay active, ROUTINE go to job, rather than "decay" at home.
@strateguy632 I said it in sarcastic way
Why is it better to stay active? I don't think people "decay" if they're not working for someone.
@guy_123 they can stay active while not working
I think work keep person less active n more engaged
Yeah, I was responding to @strateguy632 ... There is so much to do beyond your work.
@strateguy632: Sad you been brainwashed to the point you think staying active means being at a job for a company. Smh

@guy_123: Its called being brainwashed from the cradle to the grave.
why? would anyone want this lol Like hey spend more money. (Do you want to spend more money lol)
I swear politics is become more and more of a brain dead field no wonder 80 year olds are still running this treadmill to no where.
