My Heavens, NO. The only "benefit" is that now we know how NOT to do things!

I feel sorry for any legal resident in the US who tries to buy a home lately. We own our home and two cars clear, carry no debt (other than ONE credit card which is paid in full each month), and are managing to stay afloat despite higher taxes for less public services. People just have to be proactive. Let's take food as an example. Even generic crackers have gone up 70% in the last 16 or so months!!! One store in town now has 18 oz cans of soup for $3.99! Meats have doubled. There ARE ways to fight the attempts of the current admin to sabotage the country, though.

I now make our own pork sausage, our own pickles (sweet and garlic dills- with dill seeds I grew last year), our own scratch biscuits, our own cranberry sauce, our own soups, our own seasoned croutons, stretch my ground beef with some TVP, and bunches of other things just too stay afloat.

If the discounts on my receipt are under 65%, I'm really off of my shopping game. I've learned the "sales cycles" of stores around us (6 weeks, typically) . Note: March is Frozen Food Month. This helps hide the fact many stores use this time to jack the prices on most of their other foods for the spring. And of course in April, the cost of the frozen foods will rebound too.

I plan meals the way a restaurant owner would plan: what does it cost me to put a serving on the plate. (Restaurants figure 1/3 is food cost- tops-, 2/3 is overhead, prep, utilities, loan interest, franchise fees, training, salaries, losses, etc. This is why places will keep looking for higher profit-margin foods, such as a $3 pretzel stick that was just launched at Subway. Yes, I once did a consulting case for Benihana). Here are my targets at home: $1.00 for an average entree, 25¢ for a side dish, and 25¢ for misc per meal (spices/seasonings, cooking oils, etc). Example: A stop at Costco gets us a pre-roasted chicken with about 6-7 ounces of broth for $4.99. That's about 10 servings of chicken plus a soup and gravy base, in our house. So 50¢ per serving of protein plus the free "gravy starter". (Add some corn starch, water and a shot of seasonings, a couple drops of Kitchen Bouquet- boom- gravy happens.). Example: Pasta and sauce is 13¢ for a serving of the pasta, 50¢ for a good sauce/25-30¢ for the cheap stuff, and about 17¢ for a pork patty (broken up), so that easily makes the cut at a max of 80¢ a serving, so $1.60 for the two of us. Add a salad and a fruit and I can still skid in under $1.00 each.

- Fentanyl is killing 100,000 Americans a year. Young Americans mostly. Its disturbing to me and heartbreaking to the families affected, but not Biden, he sleeps well.

- So many illegals pouring over the border that now blue Mayors of major cities and blue Governors are openly complaining yo him about it. He is an ass.

- Inflation is hurting the people who take the bus, hurting the people who work for less than $20/hr, hurting the couple with a small baby, hurting the people who want to buy a house… sane ones would wish they could go back to Trump’s economy.

I just can’t. If you want to be blind then go ahead. Vote Biden and F over the poor and those just hanging in there.

@OddBeMe I am not happy at all Trump has gotten the nomination. But when he was in office he really had smart people around him making policy decisions while he was busy tweeting away stupid remarks.

But is Biden really in control of his administration? Who is he listening to for his major policy decisions? The average American or a small cadre of elitist and radicals.

I’m not excited about this rematch at all. I personally believe that the leftists elitists intentionally orchestrated all of Trump’s legal woes to get him in the headlines. The predicted that hard core trump supporters would defend him and sure enough he blew out the primaries. That gamble is that they believe enough people hate Trump that it’s Biden’s only shot at getting re-elected.

You may not believe above. But DeSantis and Trump were neck to neck in the primaries up until it was announced Trump was facing criminal charges. Again leftist elitists WANT him back. Even if he wins they have contingency plans to use the divisions to their benefit.

Anyway I highly doubt I will change your voting decision. But hard facts are hard facts. Biden thought that doing the exact opposite of what the Trump administration did would make everybody happy. He reversed Trump’s “remain in Mexico” policy his FIRST DAY in office. Now it’s a crisis and he refuses to do anything about it. It’s not just about people but the cartels are flooding our country with fentanyl.

Most Americans are not happy with Biden administration and for good reason. His approval rating directly says that.

@OddBeMe I work 100% remote and so do all my colleagues. Management decided to terminate our lease during lockdown and never got a new office space. We meet maybe once or twice a year for team wide company meetings.

Anyway they still followed the mandate and I was forced to vaccinate or I would lose my job. I can take screenshots of my vaccine passport along with my drivers license. If I didn’t do that I would lose my job.

The thing is I am NOT an anti vaxxer. I got the full moderna vaccine. By the they the f*ck is that MANDATED? It’s “my body my choice” as what democrats like to say right? At my age it is a toss up decision. But if was under 30 I would said fuck you to that idea. And Biden forced that bullshit through on 80 million Americans. Some companies sued (as they should) and other people refused the mandate.

Also the vaccine has been proven to NOT a stop the spread. It only prevents you from getting very sick. It does NOT stop the infection. I got omicron two years ago.

But the bottom line is what Biden with that mandate was AUTHORITARIAN. But we are all supposed to forget about along with all of other Biden catastrophic f*ck ups like the Afghanistan pull out (which very well emboldened Putin to invade the Ukraine). Funny how the mainstream media quickly stopped covering that just two months after it happened.

The Trump administration never did anything that authoritarian, reckless and asinine.
