Do you believe leaders are born or made?

Both, some people have a natural aptitude and just do it. Others are good but receive training, baptism of fire etc and become legends. Some amazing business leaders did not go to university etc, but are exceptional leaders and visionaries. Others learnt their trade from experience and from training under others. Look at Nelson, he was naturally gifted but born at the right time to become a legend.

Leaders are made, sure some people have better circumstances are therefore in a better position but I would say that one needs to craft and develop techniques and ways to lead like being a good communicator, have a vision...
Even a person that has natural talents needs to prepare themselves for the position of leadership.

Born. You can't teach someone to lead. It just happens. I have been in leadership roles a lot not by choice. I have had bosses pass out tasks for people and everyone looks at me for confirmation despite me being in a non leadership role. I have had bosses come to me for advice on how lead despite not being in a leadership role.

A good leader learns traits like never asking his subordinates to do something he would not do himself, listening to other's opinions and not surrounding himself with yes men, accepting blame when necessary, a willingness to learn and adapt, recognizing his strenghts and his faults.

Both. I've seen some weak ass men become strong Leaders. Other guys are like 16 years old and you can tell they will be an army general.

They are born. Most leaders were that way since an early age. There is some innate quality that they have that makes people want to follow them or emulate them. Of course there are exceptions.

Is leadership a genetic predisposition? Maybe. But it also owes a lot upbringing, role models and so forth.

If leaders could be "born" then military schools would be out of business.

I believe they are made. No one is born to lead, they become that way over time as personality and aptitude come into play. I will say there is a level of innate skills people have that can reflect and give that impression they were born to do something, but that is only potential. The potential becomes recognized after the person explores it and reaches the height and can use it effectively to be successful.
