Should the National Anthem become the “Black National Anthem”?

Because Americans fought and died for The Star Spangled banner. Are you familiar at all with the story of the Song? It a fascinating tale from the Revolution! it was a poem by Francis Scott Key describing the shelling of Fort Henry,” It was written after he personally witnessed the Maryland fort being mercilessly bombarded by the British during the War of 1812.

On a rainy September 13, 1814, British warships sent a downpour of shells and rockets onto Fort McHenry in Baltimore Harbor, relentlessly pounding the American fort for 25 hours.

When he describes about the bombs bursting in air... he is describing the merciless shelling of that fort by the British. The flag was still there- because American soldiers died raising that back up no matter what.

That's what its about. The indomitable American Spirit to fight against all odds. That other song? Who died for that?

It doens't make sense because "lift every voice" excludes 70% of the population as it's the "black national anthem". Some black people exclude other black people from even being black, so maybe it's 80% of population. Someone can claim it's everyones anthem, the change it to that and make it freedom for all.

I accept if people want their own anthem because the other anthem excluded them for so long. But lets not go creating a Chinese/American national anthem, trafficed children anthem, Irish anthem, Jewish anthem, Appalatian Anthem, nor any others. We have a song, it's good enough created at the start of the whole idea when people laid down their whole lives to steal it from others. So lets respect that.

Because it will take too long and people will fall asleep.
