Is expired tags a law that should be enforced?

I'd have to think if there's a better way. like google/internet can track if there is a car and it's moving. so if it's moving and fee not paid, just zap their on file card. if that fails, send notice. if notice is not processed, send police to fine them. failure to pay, confiscate car for illegally using roads.

sadly, inflation combined with human failure rate causes some people to no longer afford to own/drive a car. cars are stolen... its cheaper than paying for all that junk and with no money, they have low risk. owned cars are under in sured or not insured and may not be registered. laws are not being enforced.

Add to it... since people don't obey laws like using lights, stop signs, speed, wreckless driving... it's dangerous. I've never seen such hazardous conditions. probability of being in a car accident with injuries or death in my area, is higher than ever.

It is to a degree at least here.

It is a good reason to pull someone over if they think something is up.

A lot of drunks, substance abusers, drug busts are made that way.

It's 2 am, you have a headlight, taillight license plate light out or expired plates it is an invitation to get pulled over.

Is an expired credit card reason for payment to be denied? Because I did not follow the law or rules does not negate them.

I agree to a point. But we have so many laws. That if law enforcement stopped on every violation. They would literally do nothing else

Tags are for tax purposes. The pot holes don't fill themselves, do they?

Pay your fair share and move on with your life. It's easy enough to get a z tag and never think about it again.

The registry of motor vehicles keeps track of all the vehicles through their tags. The current information helps with tax collection and to punish people that do not obey traffic laws

Your license plates. In most states (in the US and even most parts of the world) you have to have license plates on your car. Well…. They expire after so long

We have car tax, you just pay it online or by direct debit. We call them Registration plates. Car tax is a separate item. We have APNR that are used or can be used to check against national database for car tax. There is usually a fair chance an untaxed car also has an uninsured driver. Personally there should be cameras in all car parks and if you are not taxed you cannot leave as the barrier will not lift.
