If you were living in medieval times, which of these jobs do you think you would be best suited for?

Soldiers: Soldiers served in the military and were responsible for defending their homeland, participating in wars, and maintaining order within the kingdom.

Scholars: Scholars were educated individuals who pursued knowledge in fields such as theology, philosophy, medicine, and law. They often worked as teachers, advisors, or scribes for nobles and clergy.

I went with the bottom although the text got truncated for some reason on my end, making it so I can't read the top line of text on most of these. I think that's the closest approximation of my current job being a researcher and software engineer focusing on computer graphics R&D.

I also have some knack for teaching having formerly taught CompSci 101 & 102. I had 100% of my students pass when it was common for around 70% to drop out or fail on average. Mainly I saw my job as making CompSci fun to learn so I sought out ways to engage my students and get them interested in the topic which was a bit different from the other professors.

Being a craftsman of some sort like a blacksmith might also suit me well. As an engineer, I really enjoy building things and really focusing on craftsmanship as well as optimizing efficiency of the production process.

The soldier really appeals to me romantically. Yet I really don't want to ever kill another human being unless I have to and don't think I'm tough enough to endure long campaigns. I have an athletic background but I tried to go camping one time in very harsh and cold conditions together with people who knew what they were doing, and I impressed them on the first day with how hard I worked. Yet on the second day, I was completely down with a cold sneezing with runny nose all over the place. 😂 My body starts to get weak quickly if I don't have a reasonably comfortable place to rest and sleep.

I'd be a master artisan - just as I am now.
And I'd further my craft with own input and creativity - same as I do now.
If that's not possible for some reason, I'd sail away, and find new continents :)

A Soldier. I think being a Soldier would suit me well. I like physical activities.
When I was a teenager, I wanted to become a Soldier. I like the idea of holding a gun, wearing a uniform and all that. I would have been good in the profession, but because of my religion and the way things are there, I decided to let it go.

Probably a soldier that would serve in the military, but sword fights in the middle of the field more than likely you’re going to get hurt really bad, and most likely from behind in the kneecaps with a big sword it’s really an unlucky situation fighting like that basically it’s just swinging away and whoever happens to be around you that gets a shot in I don’t like the chances of those kind of fights it doesn’t take much skill for somebody to chop your knees out from behind

Well, I'm literate, so I'm already in the top 5% for being informed. Assuming we're talking about medieval Europe, that is; among the Chinese or the Jews, that's much less impressive.

My IT skills would be out of the window, but I am surprisingly good at being a counselor and the likes as well as philosophy. So out of these i'd say Scholar (Which makes sense that most people picked that since our over supply of academics) but I think i'd also fit right in as a religious leader.

Well to be clear, if your ancestors were in East Africa, if you were to be enslaved it would be by the arabs at this time. the European Atlantic slave trade hadn’t begun yet. So if they were in west or South Africa you’d be ok lol.

I doubt that actually, there were no black people in the middle ages we didn't discover those yet and I don't think it's safe to assume they would automatically become slaves just because that happened during a much further developed time. Its likely that they saw the practise elsewhere where it was more common.

What I expect instead is that they may consider you a demon because they would not be accustomed to someone with such dark skin and assume it has to do with shadow beings. So I actually give the burnt alive a higher chance.
