North Korea has nukes, if they randomly strike first with those it depends on how powerful the nukes are but I suspect even their old trash is plenty powerful to take on their neighboring country. If south korea manages to survive past the nukes I don't give north korea much chance because of how insanely weak their troops are and how outdated everything they have is.

Obviously north korea won't last much longer even if they defeat south korea, since everyone else has better stuff than them and they would likely be nuked from oblivion in return.

Oh, South Korea undoubtedly. While North Korea was initially stronger and wealthier, lets just say that a few decades of dictatorship did not do well for keeping up with the development of the country and now the roles are entirely reversed. North Korea would have to entirely rely on China to come in and back them up if they want to stand a chance.

Today's wars are about economy because like Napoleon said there are three things necessary to win a war first one is money, two is money, three is money as well.
South Korea is much richer, so I think 1 vs. 1 without nukes North Korea won't last long.

Of course China could use such conflict as proxy war but on the other side is US, in this case this would be a lose for both Korea.

Big problem is that seoul of 10 million is in artillery range of north Korea. So massive civilian deaths are going to happen as the opening move and once the dust settled north Korea gets rolled over.

Usa is deeply invested. China isn't going to help the north. Maybe Russia but not much help.

It's not even close. The artillery barrage would cripple Seoul in the first 15 minutes, but then there's nothing left except to glass over the north.
