Because it's examined evidence, including that of your own government at the time, which is what called the trials and convicted the organizers in the first place.

The depressing part is that THAT is probably the core objection to Turkey admitting it; that it was the Sultan who called the trials. He objected to war crimes, so war crimes must be dandy.
