I often wonder if there was a dichotomy between working class and educated class in this way.

Like the classic idea of the Western gentleman often seemed more like an educated class concept as a courteous man who is very cultured with refined tastes, and preferred women who are similarly cultured and educated.

It doesn't seem so much to me like the classic gentleman would share these types of views.

It's something I got to thinking about with figures like Andrew Tate and Myron Gaines. They talk about the "traditional" woman like a subservient housewife -- a servant who slaves away in the house and kitchen for her husband -- and that doesn't make sense to me in the context in which they talk about.

Their context is the type of women that the supposed "alpha males" and top-dogs want. Why would a top dog want a domestic servant? They can hire them left and right with their wealth. Wouldn't they instead favor a woman of class, education, the lady-like type? A queen to match the king: a woman who's formidable, a leader in her own right, educated, refined?

No doubt there was some sexism in the past but I suspect there is at least quite a difference between the traditional wives of the working class and the traditional wives of the wealthier or educated classes.
