Right after George Washington. Still the best in the world but devolved since then.

u +1 ySince FDR instituted the New Deal, the population has expected the government to fix every problem that happens in their lives. That is not the proper function of government and it allows the populace to vote us into bankruptcy.

I agree. America is juggling both a socialist and welfare system and needs to decide which to undertake entirely. Country cannot sustain itself with both

We have the best economy in the world now, though. Lowest inflation of any civilized nation! But we have LOTS of dummies here who want to start a civil war over lies. The good news is we have a hot genius who has the cutest butt in the world. 🍑😊

5.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Depending on who you ask, either the Johnson, FDR, Wilson, Lincoln, Jackson, or Adams administration. Each of these represent periods in which a significant abuse of power became law and did not get shot down by the supreme Court of the time, in most cases out of fear. I did not include anyone after Johnson because by this point, the corruption you see on full display now had become normalized, which was a direct result of Roosevelt's leadership, but even that level of government abuse and hijacking stems from Woodrow Wilson. Wilson's administration is where I would argue that the United States stopped being the country it was founded to be, and the federal government became an antagonistic force towards the general public.

+1 yI would argue it really started going to shit 100 years ago with President Wilson, but it's never been great.
Under Wilson, the big thing was that corporations started to be recognized as politically active entities in the same way a living person would be. So you basically had a situation where corporations could directly interface with government bureaucracy in a way that they couldn't before. Corporate entities effectively became movers and shakers within government.
A corporation is an entity that exists to generate a profit, usually for shareholders. When Wilson came to power, you saw the beginnings of a government where entities that exist solely to generate a profit being able to control governmental policy.
Big... Big... Problem...

+1 yAt least as far back as Christmas day 1913 when the federal reserve was voted into existence. It's been steadily going downhill ever since, with few exceptions, i. e., the Lincoln years, the Kennedy years, the Trump years and possibly the Eisenhower and the Reagan years. The LBJ years is where the biggest decline since then started. Nixon, Ford, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Soetoro and Biden (Soetoro's 3rd term) have practically flushed us down the toilet!! The ONLY good thing ANY of them ever did was get us out of Viet Nam!!
10 Reply 5.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. 1980, Reagan. He introduced the era of style over substance, removed the solar panels from the White House, busted the unions, and led to the end of the connection between productivity and wages. Income inequality has rocketed since he came to power.
00 Reply11.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It's never been great. From the very beginning, the United States has committed genocide first against indigent people in the US and then against people in central to the South America and now all across the world. This is also one of the most racist countries on the face of the earth. The economy has always been tilted toward the ultra rich and biased against the middle income and poor people. Just like it is today.

When Pesident Obama sent a mob of idiots to smash into the Capitol and murder cops in an attemp to destroy democracy?
Oh wait, that was fat fuck Trump. š³ - +1 y
Hmm, no, cops were not murder. One had a heart attack. But an unarmed veteran was killed in cold blood. The Capitol building is the people building. Capitol police never stop other groups through the years demonstrating there. Most of the police let the people in. But
Obama did let many federal buildings, especially courts, police stations, let cities burn in all the rioting through America and never did anything. Stop believing all the left wing media.

No there were many before that.
- +1 y
You mean the Rodney King riots in 1992? I remember those. What riots happened during Obama's term that "many federal buildings, especially courts, police stations, let cities burn in all the rioting through America"? Because the only riots that came anywhere close to that description (and still not really anywhere near) happened on Trump's watch.
