The truly intelligent people I knew in school. Those I shared classes with. Compared to them I was a B student, but there doesn't seem to be anyone around occupying any positions of influence who actually knows what they're doing. It seems the world is run by dummies, by people who don't even have two brain cells to rub together, and the results of this are clear for all to see.

Instead, we ended up with people like THIS

I know a ton of people who have more luck than brains. I think many people have come to the conclusion that they don't need to be smart to be successful. And "being educated" doesn't equate to smartness, because back in the day you needed to be educated to get a good job and you needed to be smart to get into college to get educated. And a college degree actually meant something. Now it's experience that matters, and also with entry level jobs paying 16 to 20 dollars and hour now, people have no incentive to get educated, as they see they can make a decent living without it.

Also, I don't know what happened, but at some point in the last 30 years, the standards for getting into college and university significantly dropped. As mentioned before, you needed to be smart to get into college let alone university, now any bozo with ADHD can bullshit their way through university. Professors at one time needed to be well rounded, now there are professors with PhDs who have little to no knowledge of areas outside their field. Affirmative action is partially responsible for this, as a many students are pushed through school just because they're brown. I read some of the reviews of Yale professors, and I was shocked at how low their standards are. My community college and high school had stricter standards then my university. So anyways, you got all these dumbasses teaching our youth now, and also, Liberalism and woke culture has created an environment where people are afraid to challenge the status quo or speak the truth to begin with. For many professors, it's not worth risking their career to teach the truth, and our young people just find it easier to listen and not think too much. And also, a lot of young people want to "fit in", so they will get behind any movement just to be accepted. Social media influencing also plays a role, as young people realize they can make easy money by pushing certain narratives.

And like Adolf Hitler said, "If you tell someone a lie enough times, eventually they will start to believe it."

The only solution I see is irradicating this culture of intimidation, where people are afraid to speak out or challenge the status quo for fear of having their lives ruined. We need to bring back critical thinking and analysis.

Alright, Sawno controversial opinion bait. I'll bite.

Let's examine the school system again. What do you get rewarded for in school?
A) Being competent at a skill?
B) Memorizing what the teacher said so you can repeat it on an exam.
C) Knowing the stuff you need to know for an expert position at a real job.

Obviously, the correct answer is B, memorizing what the school system said. Well what if the school system is wrong? Everyone was just trained to memorize everything it said as if its true. So the people who do the best in class are the most vulnerable to propaganda because they have been trained to memorize "trusted sources" and recite them as the truth.

Remember those cartoons and how they depict brainwashing?

It's always depicted as someone being forced to watch something over and over again until they think it's the truth right? Imagine going for your entire childhood to a place where you are FORCED to go, you are FORCED to pay attention and you are FORCED to assume everything is true and then get graded on how well you internalized that truth. A place where the majority of people have the same opinion because its the correct opinion to have.

The people who are thriving in such a system are the least likely to break out of exactly the things you describe in your question. They are to far gone, they memorized to much and have the media to keep reinforcing it. Their entire lives they have been told they are truly brilliant (And they often are genuinely smart) so they don't think twice about their knowledge as long as it's affirmed to be true.

Then you have people like me who are highly inventive but aren't good at memorizing. And people also like me who don't assume everything they know is true and look for alternative explanations and countering claims to then make their own mind up. Those are the people that break free of it.

But, if you just read this and went like "Shit, he's right it I was being told to memorize everything as the truth" then know that your teachers can be wrong and school books contain propaganda to. Don't assume what you are told is the truth, look if it actually makes sense and test your assumptions. Search countering information and debunk that information if you can with your own knowledge, if you fail to debunk the counter claims what you know might not be the truth after all.

And I forgot another important point, schools are wasting our times teaching stuff that gives us no beneficial skills in life and the people with actual skills at least in my field me included learned it themselves as a hobby because they were passionate about it. So another big contributing factor is that the system isn't modelled to produce experts, but to ensure that the bar is low enough for everyone to pass the filler courses.

My solution for that and the above is simple, get rid of every degree. No more degrees at all unless it's absolutely vital for that industry, such as a doctors degree. Instead we begin hiring on actual skill and leave it up to the individual to find the knowledge required for their specific job in a way that works for them. Then by the time everyone is 18 they all had unique journeys and meaningful experiences. Now you have a society of experts at 20 where they are already advanced rather than doing beginner jobs that shouldn't require a degree.

I sort of put that red pilled manosphere enigma in the forefront to define how it's gone for us all as a whole. See... I'm the dumb woman who's finding it hard to get a man now because I was disinterested in my younger years. Most intelligent people are hated in society. Women who used to read a few centuries ago were burnt by witch trials. General society thinks that they are arrogant. There are only a few people who will understand them. Plus a large section of highly intelligent people become scientists. They make very less money than middle-smart doctors and engineers. Earlier scientists were direct advisers to the US government. A lot of social advancement skyrocketed. We got the internet, space exploration, and nuclear energy in just a few decades. Then things changed after the Cold War. Politicians took over majorly, smart people were categorized as nerds. Popular media frown upon such people. The academic system became evil. More management, less poison, and money with longer education and work for scientists. Most girls even don't wanna marry or date such guys with high education but poor salaries. Quality of life degraded for such people, soon it started affecting their work.

Just because somebody is smart or good with a school environment means they will be rich. I worked with some really brilliant people but none would become a millionaire. They all had engineering jobs that paid pretty well but none will even own a company and become rich/. I think all the clever people are working like the rest of us and do not have the time to be clever.
