to prevent people from lying and claiming someone is the biological father of their baby when they know they aren't.

There are too many men out there raising children who they believe are biologically theirs, only to find out years later that the child is not their biological child. I feel it's extremely cruel and selfish of women to do this to men.

I do know not all women lie but at a least it will stop anyone thinking about lying.

Absolutely I think it’s very important.

It’s not just important to the husband either. It’s important to the child as well.

Imagine you grew up your whole life with your mom and your dad but then when you’re 23 years old, you find out that your dad isn’t your dad and your actual dad is some deadbeat living under a bridge.

Also, if your husband isn’t the dad, it would also be important to the actual Dad.

It would be very uncharacteristic of me, but let’s make the argument that I had a one night stand with a woman after getting drunk and she got pregnant and never told me But 20 years later, somebody comes to me and tells me I’m their dad and they grew up with a single mother. I would be mad.
I would be mad for two reasons.
The first reason I would be mad is because my child grew up without me and their life and I do not want that and I would be mad because my child grew up with a single mother when I’m right here.
If I accidentally knocked someone up, I would rather try to make the relationship work so that way I can raise my kid Then not even know my kid even existed.
Even if the relationship couldn’t work, I could at least aim for shared custody so I can raise my child into being a respectable human being.

The mother also benefits. If the paternity test is mandatory, and the child is the husbands Then at the very least, there won’t be any question that the child is his which benefits the wife.
The paternity test is mandatory and the child is not the husbands Then she at least doesn’t need to get blindsided by a brutal divorce later on down the line where now her children will hate her For keeping their biological father, a secret.
Also, if the paternity test is mandatory, then the wife doesn’t need to feel betrayed because the husband doesn’t trust her because the husband file for a paternity test it’s just mandatory by the government so it’s nothing personal.

All in all, there are no downsides to a mandatory paternity test.
Somebody did mention that babies shouldn’t go through tests after they are born, The problem with that statement is that hospitals usually do tests anyways maybe not paternity tests, but there are other tests they do because there can be consequences that they were not able to spot inside the womb. They have to wait for the baby to be born in order to find these things, and it’s better to find them in the hospital Where they can receive immediate medical attention because you’re literally in a hospital then at home where your baby has a heart attack in the middle of the night and you have to either drive down to the hospital in which case the baby will probably die or an ambulance ride, and in which case the baby will probably die.

Also, science has proven that saliva is just as good for a DNA test as blood is so they don’t even need to use a needle. They can just cotton swab the babies mouth.

Despite the number of instances spread from Dr Phil to Jerry Springer and the televised paternity court 🐂 💩 it's a tiny number of people compared to the number of children born.

Kind of like DNA testing every dog to see if it's a Labrador.

A better idea would be to prevent the courts incentivising women naming the rich guy on the birth certificate by allowing any guy who is proven to not be the father to sue for falsely claimed child support over the entirety of the child's life and compensation for any man jailed for missing child support payments when it's not his child.

Even better would be a society that values mothers in their role raising children by incentives for employers who hold posts for mothers for the child's full educational life - 18 years - so the mother's career is not jeopardised by staying at home to raise her children by allowing her to return to employment if she chooses at any time up to the end of the academic year when the child reaches 18 at the level she would have been in had she not had the child.

This would allow fathers to have the support of the family and mothers to maintain their career trajectory.

Of course, first we need to remind people that Western society ran smoothly for centuries before feminism was created to tell women they weren't men. It's bizarre how something so simple has pissed off so many people - mostly women.

Nah i don't think any testing is acceptable to do to a newborn. I would be having home births if they forced something like that onto babies.

I place a great value on having government impose a minimum number of regulations on individuals.

Under our current law, any man named as a putative father of a child can contest paternity - even the man married to the mother of the child - and any man who fails to do that should bear the consequences.

I don't really like it when "laws" interfere with private life.
But to make it a 'standard procedure' to -automatically- do such a test, then no one gets offended, or needs to feel 'guilty' to want to know.
After all... this kind of test may also confirm that all is nice and well. What is there to worry?

It is possible to do dna tests during pregnancy. e. g.  I think it should be a matter of course and just made part of the rite of celebration and not viewed as a slur.

It can be done before the baby is even born and should be done. DNA tests are also only wrong due to human error. If a testing facility makes a mistake it can be wrong. If they don't the test is never wrong. As a result it is a factual reality that a DNA test will almost always be right. And to avoid potential errors sending results to more than 1 facility will eliminate those human errors. Any good woman is for DNA testing because she wants her man to have the same information as her... that the baby is his factually. My wife insisted they do a test despite us only having been with each other because she understands that believing vs factually seeing the results are important. Sure I knew they were mine. She also made sure that I could see the results stating that what I believed with certainty was correct.

I agree 100%. Paternity fraud is shockingly common, but because it is men rather than women who are the victims, society doesn't take the issue seriously.

Compulsory DNA testing would significantly reduce paternity fraud because women would know for certain they could not get away with lying about who the father is. As it is today, there are thousands of men unknowlingly raising children who are not theirs, and thousands of children who will never know their actual father.

Look, paternity fraud is awful, but let's not get stupid here. If you think vindictive women can be horribly cruel to men and get away with it, well, you're correct. But if you think governments are any better, the male population of Ukraine will be happy to tell you- those who're still alive, at any rate. No, in most cases, a DNA paternity test would prove nothing other than what's already known. And tests can produce false results. How would a couple feel knowing the baby is his, yet the DNA test says it's not?

Best is No mandatory DNA paternity test, but optional if either the mother or the father request it.

Yes I'd agree with it, and the test should be done before the birth certificate is done because there are too many fathers going through paternity fraud because a mother has named a man as the father of the child, but has no genetic connection to that child.

I find it to be humiliating and showing distrust. Its like my wife checking my phone without my consent to check if i am cheating. Children usually look like their father in something. Many men can tell the child is theirs by some physical trait. I dont like the idea. If a man distrust his wife to the point he would need such a test better not marry her at all or divorce her.

I think that it should be done before awarding child support. If it comes back negative; then child support should not be awarded.
