I saw that as one actors summary of how the recent film Civil War (2024) was also conveying that basic grounded message of, politics come and go, empires come and go, yet above all, how people treat each other daily, that's really what keeps the fabric of any society, country, or nation, stable and afloat. True that? How we treat each other, daily. As Human beings indeed.

I brought this question up after reading allegedly one of the Kirsten Dunst quotes about the Civil War 2024 film, how, in part, the crux of the story is also about "how people treat other people as human beings" could tell us all as much about how to prevent civil war (s) as much as how civil war (s) manifest. No. I would not care if people treated each other like shit as long as we had good politics, because the alternative is bad politics AKA a failed state which leads to civil wars and national collapse.

People forget it but its things like economic policies that decides if you have food on your table each morning and without food, just as an example, there will not be a society to be nice to each other. People are going to start eating each other at the best of times.

Policies are very, very important. How we treat each other is honestly secondary.

The consideration underestimates the power of propaganda. The powers that be want us destabilized, and since most people are morons they’re getting exactly what they want. Too few people stop to think for themselves how to treat others. Their pundits and politicians tell them how to treat others, and that’s what they do, without question. As long as someone wants to be in control and most people are dumb, there will always be conflict.
It’s almost hysterical how US citizens can watch news footage from other regions, hear commentary about political forces deliberately destabilizing the region for political or financial advantage, and fail miserably to see that the exact same thing is going on right here… and has been for decades. Just… plain…. dumb.

Yes. That's why it's so awful when politics undermine community and trust in your neighbor. A divided, isolated population is much easier to control.

Exactly. I treat myself worse than I treat others. But it seems 2/3 of people prey upon, use, abuse and steal from others.
