Yeah I believe so.. I've seen people grow up around me.. People in identical surroundings ( sometimes in the same household ).. one of them is effortlessly good and one of them is effortlessly bad.. I've seen people who endured horrible treatment since they were kids.. some of them try to prevent it from happening to other people.. and some of them make it an excuse for being really shitty people to others..
You're one of the more intelligent and observational ones
I love having this debate. See I believe it is the dynamic of the relationship which causes others to behave in a certain way. For example.. If one kid is good and the other bad.. Who is to say the bad kid isn't bad because the supposed good kid pushes his buttons and deliberately makes him look bad.. and rather than fight it, he plays up to the label he's been lumbered with.
@TommyMountainFigure There are babies that are calm, quiet, extremely shy, and share everything they have even if they like it.
Then there are babies that are loud, obnoxious, mischievous and even though they understand some language, they will do their best to go against it and do so with a mischievous smile. They can also hate sharing and get extremely mad or start crying when they don't get what they want.
The environment and peers that a person has definitely affects them. However, their inherent nature is the deciding factor.
An inherently good person will be good even in the face of constant abuse or harassment that they have growing up. And an inherently bad person will be bad even with the kindest and highest morally righteous family and peers growing up.
People who say that we come into this world as a blank slate are only half right. Yes we come into this world without any sins, but our brains are already wired to react to certain scenarios in specific ways.
Babies that are calm and quiet will still have a bratty half hour. My point is, everyone has both good and bad in them.. no exceptions.. How you are taught at an early age will be for me the deciding factor.
@TommyMountainFigure as much as I love debates, all I really see in this is that you just need a little observational skills to see that's not true.
@HawkPerception you answered it perfectly šš
@HawkPerception @Starrrboy Not really, just I do not have the time to spend on educating you both.
@TommyMountainFigure it's not a competition lol.. I just have the same view about this topic..
@TommyMountainFigure Educate us? What are your credentials? Because unless you're a professor of psychology or neuroscience, I doubt there's much I can learn from you. I've done a fair amount of research on the topic.
There's equal arguments that can be made for either nature or nuture. But I feel it most often is determined by which voice inside then gets fed. But I do think one is born leaning in a direction.
I agree. Both nature and nurture affect someone, but I do think nature has a stronger impact on how one turns out

i guess there are some cases of people being born evil (psychopaths, sociopaths) but even then evil is subjective - i don't think anyone is born inherently good either
i think the majority of people are born as blank slates, the way we're brought up and our experiences and values make us good or bad
Thereās no such thing as āevilā. Every terrible thing anyone has ever done can be explained by greed and mental illness.
Everyone is some good and some bad. Nobody is entirely either.
How we turn out has a great deal to do with how weāre raised as well as whatās written in our DNA. Thereās not much nature that canāt be overcome by a great deal of nurture though.
Of course not- a newborn baby isn't capable of understanding good OR evil. That's not to say we have no inherent sense of morality whatsoever- experiments have shown that's not the case- but it's nowhere near as sophisticated as what you'd see in even a stupid adult. I mean, how could it be? Instinct only goes so far.
Some people are born evil, it's their nature. They don't know how to be good. However, I also believe that some people are born good but then they turn bad.
Generally most people are born as a clean slate but we have to acknowledge mental issues like Psychopathy is something someone can be born with, Whether they do evil deeds or not it up to them while Sociopaths are made.
Neither. They are influenced by their parents, teachers, media, and their life experiences. Only a very small amount of people are evil from the beginning due to mental disorders and birth defects.
Good n evil no. We are born with 300+ personality traits so I'm a more nature vs nurture believer. After years of having multiple siblings in class I'm convinced of it. I'm not even sure they were raised in the same house.
There is no good and evil, there is success and failure. Some people are just born to fail
no.. born selfish as necessary but not evil. some choose evil later.
We're born with a clean slate. There is no good and evil with a baby.
While there is evidence of some mental health issues being hereditary I think most people arrive in this world as a blank slate.
I think we are born good unless we have the brain structure of a psychopath.
Nah. They develop good or evil from environment, peers and parents
Personality is nature and nurture but mental illness exists
Everyone is born innocent
nonsense
evil is made
Calvinism sucks
No nobody is
