Why do you think women are drinking more than men and cheating more than men?

I know these are two questions that probably have nothing to do with each other. I heard this recently and had to dig into it a little, but apparently both are true, but it has been on my mind for days and I genuinely can't figure it out. I ask this sincerely, not to cast shade, but I'm especially curious what women would say. What has changed?
I should also say I have no problem with drinking socially, or as long as it's under control, but apparently with women it's partially binge drinking, but also just total alcohol use is way up. The fact they're out-cheating men though is what really blows my mind.

They also say they don't need a Man and bla bla bla. I understand that women have been oppressed for centuries and years in a row and now are seeing an opportunity to show that they can do the Man's job as well of even better than some men. But there will be consequences. This is the first generation of independent women who don't need a Man that we're seeing and we don't know yet what the consequences will be but my guess is that more than half of them will be single and childless and when they decide it's time to get married and have kids it will be way too late.

women have far more more freedom in todays world in certain parts of the globe to act as they please, more so than they ever had in the past, now they can act as men do without remorse or regrets. They sometimes abuse this freedom and we as men lots of time encourage these behaviours. look at the number of couples engaging in swinging and cuckold sex. Some girls/women are actually going for as many partners as they possibly can for bragging rights on their body count. Drinking/smoking/promiscuous sex is now more readily acceptable for women like its always has been for men and they are freely take advantage of their their options. The old days and morals for women are gone forever never to return. Welcome to the new world of feminism. IMHO

I always knew women cheated more than men. All of my exes cheated on me. Everyone claims all women aren't like that though but I'm not convinced. They probably think if men do it why can't they. It's not a good thing when men do it so women shouldn't be doing it either especially sense they're the ones who have babies. No man would want to come home to his girlfriend and find out she's pregnant with another man's kid. And I don't even drink except on occasion. Women have always been alcoholics when it comes to drinks like wine though so that doesn't surprise me either.

Actually, according to the article you're citing, it depends on the age group.

I'm saying, in my own response to this question, that other articles just flat-out say women cheat more.

I'm saying that if you marry a man, and one of you cheats, then based on your age, the cheater is more likely to be you than your husband.

I don't know about the drinking part but women don't cheat more than men. that's a statistical fact. generally women do cheat slightly more than men before marriage but men cheat way more after marriage. it's not even close.

Scientific studies. Missouri State University did one as well as University of Nevada among others. Really this is the kind of thing a lot of universities spend a lot of their time on, these bizarre sexual proclivity studies. *Eye roll*. So no the data isn't being disputed at all, but the question is why.

Some of them list possible causes, the same with many of the articles written, but I didn't find any of it very convincing, The drinking I don't find that strange if it were equal, but more is weird. The cheating I have no idea.
