In terms of science people do not believe the truth they believe what they want. They argue for ages.
Me and a lot of times. Mostly because I always get myself dragged back by 'she left so we won' arguments.
My newest 'strategy' is actually quite simple: I continue here only if you name a source actually supporting your claims.
Most of them fail that, so I see it as done. Most of the time they cherry pick arguments from sources they haven't fully read OR they dont even have valid sources. A twitter post is not data, your own experience is not data, data that is not verified and contradicts peer revied articles is not valid.
The advantage of this is, you still get interesting things to read but loose the stupid people behind it that are not even able to understand what they are even saying.

I stopped doing that after I hit 20 and realized that a lot of people just start fights on purpose and knowingly take the wrong side because they think it’s funny to see people get angry. It’s easier to just stonewall them if I have to interact with them.
That's practically what the internet is for. People who should have what they want to say scrawled on a cardboard box, shouting it at people at a busy intersection, are instead allowed to type it and whine about censorship when mods remove it for being nonsense.
People just like to start an argument over something to be honest. you are right, so many people are so blind to the facts.

I often argue for wayyyyy too long with certain chuds on here instead of just ignoring their stupidity and hatred.
"science" is an awfully broad word.
