Immigration without integration does ruin a countries culture.. Some cultures are better than others, and when you enter a country where you are the minority, you should at least assimilate somewhat into it.. It's why you wanna go there in the first place..

I think it CAN depending on who is immigrating. If it's people from poor high crime countries, especially with other religion, they create more problems then someone coming from a rich Western country

some people seem to think so but no country had 0 immigration and all those immigration changed the culture. Can't really say if this is worst or better but for example people in France say immigration ruin culture but wee wouldn't be called France if German Franks tribe didn't invade us and we wouldn't speak French either if German tribes and Romans didn't invade us (Romans gave us Latin language the roots if French and ours pronnunciation is closely related to German language).

So can we say immigration / war destroyed us? Our culture, can't really say because we can't not redo history, we would just be extremely different.

I guess this question come from the new African / Arabs immigration because they're reputed to be drugs dealer and "gangster" but for my country (can't say for others) we have kind of glorified mobster / mafia / gangster since the 50s in movies, hundred of movie with Alain Delon glorified gangster, mafia, killer, etc... So much that my father and a fews of my grandfather friends were not very clean and made quite a lot of illegal action because it was considered as very cool in this time period. People like to say we 're violent because of immigrant but we were violent before and it's not immigrant that first glorified violent culture, crime and mafia in pop culture since nearly 100 years.

Also it depend on which immigrant you do you have educated one or are you just accepted the trash others countries lay on you? If all the immigrant a country accept are criminal and lunatic it's not gonna end well.

Immigrant can enriched a country culture but it can also completely change it and kind of destroy it, but what happen happen, it's just change.

Too much of anything is a bad thing, too much immigration generally beyond the culture's ability to assimilate or more than a few % can destroy the culture's ability to function as a single group. Thus bringing dysfunction and authoritarianism for the strongest minority to rule or balkanization to each to go their separate ways.

This is why empires fall, thou most of them are generally formed with a strong population conquering other people under it's rule to varying extents, requiring the same strong hand to maintain that union.

Thou it is less common due to historic levels of migration being low, the same is just as true in reverse, the more different people you have the more conflict you get over said differences and the greater the necessity of force for any set there of to have their way.

Not in the U. S. because the U. S. is a land of immigrants from all over the world.
But too many immigrants can be harmful to homogeneous cultures whose histories developed over centuries. Those cultures can lose their identities and sense of national pride.

I don't think ruin it is the right word because if I emigrated to another country it would improve. If immigration is ruining your culture then did you really have a culture to start with?

Immigration does  modify   a country's culture. If a country already has a mixed culture (like the US), immigration just enhances it. If a country has a closed culture (like some middle eastern countries), immigration can change the country's culture. In no case, though, does immigration  ruin  a country's culture.

They could. If there are too many of them and they are not given any incentive to assimilate into American culture. If they collect welfare benefits and do not pay taxes. Also if a great number of them are criminals or terrorists.
