Will there ever actually be gender equality? Does either gender want to share the power?

No there won’t. Because for one gender (female) to have to go to another gender (male) to ask for equality that already is not gender equality. Now if women were capable of fighting men, possibly killing them like in times of war to take those rights rather than ask for them than maybe there would be gender equality. But it’ll never happen. Collectively, if men tomorrow said all women by law have to return to their homes of domicile to cook clean, you can’t work, etc. More than likely it would happen by force. Some women might fight back, maybe get tossed in jail or killed but it would happen. The other reason why there’s some sort of “gender equality” is because it’s being upheld by other men who are fighting for women to have these rights. Because you know as well as I do that there are some corrupt men who would like to see women back in the kitchen. But in all honesty that isn’t gender equality if the men are the ones who are keeping other men from making things like this happen to women. Gender equality didn’t come about because Susie was protesting at the White House burning her bra. It’s because men finally said ok we’ll give you some rights. If that was the case why aren’t women protesting in countries like the Middle East? Maybe there are some but they’re most likely going to get killed or imprisoned.
Women really don’t want equality. A lot of them want the good parts of being a man w out being a man. What about women voting to make it mandatory for women to be required by law to register for selective services once they turn 18. I’d like to see the courts look at both parents in a divorce when it comes to child support, alimony, etc, etc. What about seeing women get equal prison time like men for committing the same crimes?
Most women complain about jobs that are office based. Many of them, or a majority of them don’t want to work in industries that involve actual physical labor.
And when it comes to dating most women’s till want a man to pay for the first date. Roman the first date. To ask her out. To be chivalrous, etc. Yes there are some exceptions to a lot of what I said but those exceptions aren’t the majority who does what when it comes to gender equality. Men are still expected to give up their lives for women.
No, because women absolutely do NOT WANT gender equality. Do you want to be an oil field worker, or an electrical lineman, or a miner, or a roofer, or a bricklayer, or any of a thousand hard, dirty jobs that are almost exclusively held by men? Do you know a lot of women who do? Gender equality would mean women would do 50% of those jobs.
It would also mean that women would be subject to the draft just like men are.
Gender equality isn't just about women getting 50% of the high-status, high-paying indoor corporate jobs, it also doesn't mean having lower requirements and expectations because you are female. it means all jobs and all responsibilities. And women do not want that. And so there will never be gender equality.
Men make more money because they are far more willing to take hard, dirty jobs with long hours and long commutes. Men are more willing to work outdoors, to work non-standard shifts, to work overtime, to travel for work, and to relocate for work then women are - and by a large margin. Women COULD do these things TODAY and make more money and attain higher status (and a tiny handful do), but they don't want to.
How do you envision gender equality when women aren't willing to do the jobs men do?
“Do you want to be an oil field worker, or an electrical lineman, or a miner, or a roofer, or a bricklayer, or any of a thousand hard, dirty jobs that are almost exclusively held by men”
I have had jobs that are meant for exclusively for men and done better than a lot of the men there. But I understand we’re coming from. I agree. But then then I got pregnant and not I’m a stay at home mom which was my husband who wanted that. But as soon as my daughter goes to school I’m going back too work. There are a lot of women out there that want equality but still want to be treated like they are back in the 50’s.. I’m sorry now days that’s not how it works.
If women did those dangerous jobs men do they’ll die just as soon as men are said to.
There are strong men who do these dangerous jobs who still die while on the job. Strength has nothing to do with it. If women want to risk doing it like men do I say go right ahead. There will be less of them like there are less men compared to women in this country
Women have had voting rights for over 100 years, and have widely been able to choose their careers for over 60 years. Yet, women have not changed which jobs they choose to do in any significant numbers - the one change is that farm work has gone way down and HR jobs have taken their place. Otherwise, women still choose to be secretaries, nurses, child care workers, school teachers, etc. in virtually the same percentages as 100 years ago, and only 1% have taken on an infrastructure job, even with special programs and job set-asides for them.
As I said, women do not want true equality - they just want the power and privileges of the top 5% of men, largely without the corresponding responsibilities.
People often use this idea and blow it out of proportion to suite their own needs. Equal opportunity should be a thing by law, but is a thing that is heavily bent especially by employers.
There are side bars to this too. Such as woman's clothes that cost more, with less material. I called Lowes out on this specifically once with the employee male vs woman's shirts. Same shirt. Same material. Woman's had far less material in most of their sizes yet was $20 more. It's bull like this that shines light on the differences and adds up.
Actual equality is not possible because men and women are an always will be different. I think what we have in the US today is as close as we can ever come to equality.
How about instead of fighting each other trying to achieve the unachievable, why not make the goal men and women getting along and supporting each other instead of always being at each other's throats all the time, hmm?
Thanks for MHO.

How do you define “gender equality?”
No and no. The problem isn’t really that neither group wants to share “power”. The problem is that the ACTUAL people in power, no NOT “men”, have perpetuated the myth of scarcity for generations. We’re not actually running low on anything. We never have been. That particular batch of lies was baked up to allow the greedy to hoard plentiful resources and tell the rest of us there’s not enough to go around. Then they pit us against each other for scraps. They’re not just using gender either; age, race, religion, politics, and even to a limited extent income. They don’t want us looking at the wealthy though. So the “evil” ones are the poorest among us. They’re the ones oppressing the working class. And literally half the country eats that shit up!
I had a friend who used this analogy: a very rich person, a republican, a democrat, and a very poor person sit down at a table with twenty cookies. Before anyone can speak, the rich person snatches up nineteen cookies then leans over to the republican and says, “You better watch out or that democrat is gonna give your cookie to the poor person!”. That’s “how the USA runs” for dummies.
Because too few people have seen the strings, men and women will continue to play the oppression Olympics while the same rich pricks who rigged the game laugh all the way to the bank. Whereas if we actually worked TOGETHER to fix our common problems, everyone would be happier and healthier.
Replace very rich with government and you have the right idea. Some very rich people are like you describe but some are the complete opposite. Some things are plentiful yet hoarded such as water and wood. Some are plentiful but require massive infrastructure and investment to make it usable such as lithium and oil. Still other are indeed rare and hard to come buy such as palladium and uranium.
Also the poor are just as responsible for thier conditions as any richman. If they spent half as much time working to improve themselves as they did petitioning government to steal others money and give it to them. Thier problems whould be solved
I will always advocate for equality. I don't want anyone to stand next to me and wonder if they are safe.
It's very difficult to achieve true equality with the current tumultuous climate.
So, until that day comes, I urge everyone to treat other genders as fellow humans with their own problems and goals.
This goes beyond muscle difference or birthing abilities. We are all brains first and foremost, although brains don't like to refer to themselves as such. When you meet someone who isn't openly hostile, you should be be kind enough to let them live peacefully or even be their friend.
Men this, women that... Yes, there are currently unsolved problems for everyone. We should be communicating and working towards a brighter future as a united species, rather than warring with each other.
This is by no means an easy task, but it is one I am very much hoping will be accomplished someday. When people stop boiling themselves down to a gender and basing their whole life around it, maybe we'll be closer to something of the sort. I'm not saying it's bad to be masculine or feminine, it's just bad to treat others lesser or rudely because of it.
Friendship should always be the first goal when meeting other people, followed by listening to their problems and taking steps to make them feel validated with how they identify themselves.
I am, however, not optimistic this will ever happen. So all I can do? Is do no harm.
Men and women are biologically and fundamentally different. We are different physically and mentally. We compliment each others weaknesses. I don't know why society has such a tough time figuring that out.
Physically men have better muscular strength and endurance as well as thicker skin, more collagen in their skin, and higher bone density. Females are better at flexibility due to the makeup of their connective tissues.
Mentally, females have been proven to be better at verbal communication and memory. They're also proven to be better at reading comprehension.
When it comes to spatial sense, men tend to be better than females on average.
This is why it's ridiculous that women desire the same pay in physical related careers like sports or construction related fields.
Even though we have equal pay nowadays there are still jobs that are extremely male and others that are extremely female and part of it is societal norms and expectations, but the others reasons are due to skills and preferences that are good for the jobs.

In the eyes of nature men and women are already equal. They each have a role in creating a successful family unit which millions of years of evolution designed them to fulfill. Women are designed to bear children and take the primary role in raising them. Men are designed to provide for and protect the women and children in the family.
This is nature's most important function for the human species because it ensures a strong family unit and maximizes the chance of the survival of the human race.
Somewhere in the most recent tick of the clock, the society came up with the warped idea to redefine the meaning of equality and women became miserable thinking that nature's design is unfair. Somehow their role of bearing children and raising them came to be considered as demeaning. Of course without it we wouldn't be here to discuss this so that's obviously absurd.
So unless the reality of nature can be denied women will always be miserable thinking they are being denied their due when in fact they are simply refusing to accept the reality that should leave them perfectly satisfied. Unfortunately for the nature deniers nature always wins.
Simple answer is no and both genders are not equal but there are overlaps as to what men and women can do however there might still be different perspectives.
The number one thing in any fight for equality is to understand everyone is different in there needs and requirements.
Most feminist arguments fall over when you ask them to do something that men are willing to do but they feel it's too dirty to do themselves.
I'm all for women taking on roles that are predominantly male orientated. After all if you can do the work just as well you are entitled to the same pay for doing the same work.
Nothing is possible to it's made so. Can it be made so? Of course. Just would take a long time. Biology people use as the keyword but they forget biology changes it's evolutionary so if that can change. Anything within that can change including our differences. Many animals can interchange sex at will, nevemind do more crazy things.
Not gonna happen in my life time but saying no. Is like someone in 1900s before women could vote saying women will never be able to vote. Guess what buddy lol. Or phones what a ridiculous idea right guy in 1800s.
When my daughter was about 7ish i caught her looking into the mirror practicing her emotions laughing, crying, happy, sad and I made the mistake of telling her i would give her 5 bucks a tooth when she lost a tooth , long story short we were at the store she ran up with a barbie doll i told he i did not have the extra 10 bucks so later that nite i was helping my girlfriend cook and she walked into the kitchen with a bloody rag and 2 front teeth , they were not loose it took about a year for the adult ones to come in she just sat on the couch and wiggled away so i paid her the money and she handed it back and said hold on to it I have a picture of her holding the teeth i pretty much figured out that girls are a bit more than people think
Not if we value freedom and liberty. Feminism is all about communism. The only way to achieve the equality that people desire is to live in a communist nation.
And trust and believe you don't want that. We are better off living under liberty than under communism.
As long as we live under liberty there will never be "gender equality." Liberty demands equality under the law and that is it.
Now if someone wants to argue that the law is imbalanced and favors one over the other okay fine.
But that is within the context of liberty. Freedom. Equality under the law equals inequality in the world and that is a worthwhile trade for liberty.
It's possible but a lot of peripheral things would have to hasten their journey towards becoming obsolete, first. A competition-based civilization, for example, is only useful when our species is collectively too dumb to make sound judgments and so needs nature to give us spankings. We could decide we don't want to be that sort of dumb anymore and prefer valuing cooperation. We tend to leap toward that goal every once in a while but then tose born way ahead in the competition struggle to retain relevance by eroding, corrupting, and exploting that cooperative spirit by every means at their vast disposal.
There never will be full gender equality. Every sex has own advantages. If you make in the rest all the same you produce more injustice. For example women will always bear the kids and have advantage when the is a divorce at least in getting the kids. Women will always have 1 minute orgasms and men 6 second ones. Women will always use their born right to kick balls, so giving then same salary and same power in society the in fact are controling men and are the more powerful sex, so this would be not equality of sexes.
Gender equality is not possible. The best way to describe this is a quote from Naruto.
Wake up to reality! Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world. The longer you live, the more you realize that the only things that truly exist in this reality are merely pain, suffering, and futility. Listen, everywhere you look in this world, wherever there is light, there will always be shadows to be found as well. As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will also exist. The selfish intent of wanting to preserve peace, initiates war, and hatred is born in order to protect love. There are nexuses causal relationships that cannot be separated.
There is no such thing as equality between the 2 genders because women and men are meant to be different. They’re meant to go hand in hand with each other regardless of what the feminists claim or want. No one should be seeking power. Seeking power creates conflict, that’s all it does. There is no sharing when it comes to power. That is why we only have 1 president to lead the country. That is why the UK has 1King or 1Queen on their currency.
Actual gender equality? What does that even mean, exactly? You will have to answer that question before anyone here can give you a valid answer.
"Equality" is a useless term feminists use as a prop. I have had countless conversations with feminists during which I have pressed them to be specific about what they mean by "equality", and in every case, the more specific I forced them to be, the fewer answers they had to offer, and the most frustrated and hostile they became.
Feminists are among the most dishonest delusional people in the universe.
Only 10% of whale snot collectors are women. It's not fair.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/MzpMRCeTHYEi wrote an entire take on this. we don't WANT gender equality. we want everyone to have the same rights which considering that only one of the 2 genders can give birth is a little bit tricky but we for sure do not want to be equal otherwise. cause another word for "being equal" is "being the same" and if you consider that, it becomes quite clear why we do not want this and why this is physically just not the case.
No there won’t be. And there doesn’t need to be. I can’t think of almost anything that a man and woman need to be equal on. Even fair pay, is a gender equity issue.
Men and women are not the same. We don’t do the same things or think the same way on most things.
No, being different and equal is by nature not possible. The result is men and women will never be equal in the areas in which they are different.
The same differences which by necessity define our roles in driving our lives to that life can work.
It will probably never happen.
Its also sad that a certain group will try to overpower men and feel superior to them. I have the impression that they feel like they need to overcompensate, while that’s the opposite of what gender equality stands for. But that’s just my opinion
Gender equality is all about both getting the same value, chances and opportunities. It’s about standing next to eachother and helping eachother out
That’s not equality that’s just common decency
Plenty of countries like Norway have gender equality. However equality is not the same as eguity.
Paradox is that when you give women freedom to choose their career as they please they are actually more likely to choose traditionally female dominated fields than in less progressed countries where they have to take what they get.
There will never be actual gender equality, because women could literally never handle it.
Let's be real here... what feminists mean by "gender equality" is women having all the advantages and privileges of both sexes but the disadvantages of neither.
I don’t want to share power. I want everyone to be safe. And things to get done. Efficiently.
And all the above that’s good- without global, civil, political, or any other kind of war (s).
There is "gender" (sex) equality now in America. There will never be "gender" equity. That is sexism.
Bingo
We don't even have gender equality in terms of LAWS in the US. How you can claim we have it in any deeper sense?
@NamerOfStars how so when it comes to “laws”? Please explain.
@blueonblack22 Gender equality in legal terms would mean having gender-neutral laws. That would mean the direct- genital mutilation, discrimination, battle slavery, reproduction, etc., as well as the indirect- in many jurisdictions, the maximum sentence a woman can get for raping a man is less than the minimum sentence a man can get for raping a woman.
@NamerOfStars this is true. Do you know that statutory rape laws only applied to men until 1994? Remember Edward furlong (young john Connor in T2). He was a victim of this and the female predator suffered zero consequences.
@blueonblack22 You don't even have to get that specific. Remember Mary Kay LeTourneau? She actually went to jail for having sex with one of her students. A woman in her position today might not even lose her license. A man in her position today would be lucky to live long enough to see a trial.
I'll admit that social mores aren't laws, but they DO inform them, and this is pushing us ever further from any kind of real equality.
@NamerOfStars this is because the so called “gender equality” activists look at society as a zero sum game. They believe that admitting fault = admitting defeat.
However I am seeing a growing minority of women who are speaking out against this crap. They are smart enough to understand that when men fail then WOMEN ultimately fail. But feminism is deeply institutionalized at this point in time.
@NamerOfStars Prove your contention: "We don't even have gender equality in terms of LAWS in the US."
Infant genital mutilation, governmental battle slavery, reproductive rights, anti-discrimination rights (on the basis of sex) and public toplessness are each limited to a single sex.
Equality is important.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzpMRCeTHYE
The only equality that is possible is legal but for some reason the ones who are somehow known for fighting for equality find it revolting. Just ask them whether a man should be considered innocent until proven guilty if he was accused of rape.
I think the issue is the concept of power, that one should analyze it at all in terms of gender. I'm a fan of meritocracy, take names and genders out of the equation. Is the person qualified? Using their resume, can you derive that they will have the skillsets needed to succeed? Can you derive enough about them to tell if they will meld well with the workforce?
I don't think there ever will be true equality n I think some men and women believe they are the better sex
If you're weak that's your own personal issue. No one else owes you anything. It's on you to improve yourself.
There is no "power" to share. It's all just politically coined bullshit to keep people divided, talking and angry.
We have gender equality. Men and women have equal opportunities. There is only one law that affects each gender separately (selective service), and both are given equal protection under the law.
Wholly false. There are several legal defenses only women can use. Only men can be convicted of rape in the US. For every interaction with police, men are more likely than women to be arrested. For every arrest, men are more likely than women to be charged. For every prosecution, men are more likely than women to be convicted. For every conviction men serve stricter sentences for the exact same crime. Fathers do NOT have equal parenting rights and women do not have equal parenting responsibilities. Despite the number of women out-earning their husbands and still filing for divorce, divorced men still only receive alimony and/or child support in a negligible percentage of divorces. Men and boys account for over two thirds of the homeless population, but the majority of shelters and services are for women and children only. Men are known to be victims of IPV at rates very similar to women. Most shelters are for women only and most services are trained only to treat men as victimizers. In fact, there’s only ONE shelter exclusively for men in the entire US. Nearly 2000 for women.
There’s nothing “equal” about any of that.
You don’t understand the world you’re living in.
Will fathers ever have equal treatment when it comes to custody/kids? I doubt it. We should though
equal powers means sharing equal responsibility
now how many equality advocates would actually sign up for equality then?
Not in all aspects if life.
If a man hits a woman even in self defence, that man's reputation is gone for good.
I need more details in terms of equality. Biologically, we are nowhere near the same just some differences between us we need each other the same. There should not be any power play.
Men and women are equal but just different and their roles are different too!
All the time we have feminism we will never have equality between the genders.
In western civilization there is already gender equality.
In the U. S. a woman is 2nd in command of the most powerful nation on earth.
Man, you think women will give up the perks of being female?
We like in a gynocracy and it has been a disaster, we need to bring back the patriarchy?
I hope that one day men and women can live their lives in peace without having to worry about societal standards.
How many women are willing to risk their lives when another World War happens... *Crickets* there's your answer.
Women are exactly as equal as men allow them to be. Which is more than equal, if anything.
There will only be gender/sexual equality when average looking men can get laid as easily as average looking women.
Equality is bs. They are fundamentally different.
But you can have balance.
Equality 😂 isn't that what capitalists use to manipulate bimbos to make money. Oh my bad, i bit more thatn i can chew, go ahead and suspend my account for speaking the truth.😂
I am exhausted of this
Gender equality is gay.
I don’t think there ever will truly be.
We already have gender equality legally.
No. And maybe some do and some don't
No
Also no
