That's just another example of the mean spiritedness or modern liberals and Democrats. They condemn anyone with whom they disagree.

They accuse those who oppose open borders of being "racist".
They call white people racist for merely being white.
They call people who value the second amendment "ammo-sexuals" and "gun fetishists".
They call people who question official narratives "conspiracy theorists".
They accuse those who value freedom of speech of spreading "hate speech".
They call those who oppose pushing trans-sexuality on children and allowing men to compete in women's sports "trans-phobic".
They regularly refer to conservatives as "'far' right wing", "white supremacist" and "neo-Nazi".
Hillary referred to conservatives as "deplorables".

It goes on and on. There is no open-mindedness or dialogue. They are fanatical haters who believe in forcing their ideologies on others by any means. They encourage divisiveness.

You can mock them without addressing them. You know, just snicker and shake your head.
You can talk about what fools they are but don't engage with them directly.
Better yet, ignore them and don't give them attention or publicity. Let them make fools of themselves.
Treat them like pariahs. They thrive on attention.

Although I do not share most of their 'ideas' - I would not say that they are 'mental'.

For certain, there are the idiots as well. But to be fair: you find this type on ''my own side'' as well :D

Further: I think that it's necessary to have people of opposing ideals. Otherwise we all would become copies of one another - and this will end up in stagnation.

Yes. Very, very often. Almost daily. The two I heard most often is “Most Republicans are happy they don’t have mental health issues.” and of course “Republicans feel bad for those poor, lost, lefties who have mental health issues.”
