The ACLU does some good work and has done good work in the past. I was a strong supporter of the civil rights and women's rights movements.
I used to think the ACLU supported liberty. But I gradually became disillusioned. I no longer support big NGOs that depend on funding from wealthy donors.
I'm glad whenever it does the right thing, but it's not always a strong defender of all constitutional rights or even common sense. It seems on board with "wokeness" and is rather absent on many important human rights issues that we face today.
It does little about censorship.
It doesn't support second amendment rights.
Also, "At the ACLU, we are not shy about defending civil liberties, even when they are very unpopular. But we see no civil liberties problem with requiring Covid-19 vaccines in most circumstances."
FUCK requirements. FUCK the experimental eugenics jabs. My body, my choice.
Consider “gender-affirming health care.” It is hard to argue that hacking off people’s healthy body parts counts as either health or care—and, however loudly the progressive fringe may shout otherwise, it is outrageous to claim this as care when those affected are children. In any case, no constitutional right exists to such procedures, and it is deeply alarming that the ACLU is aggressively attacking states that are banning them for minors.
Regarding closing the border to illegal immigration into the U. S., "We intend to challenge this order in court. It was illegal when Trump did it, and it is no less illegal now,” said Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project.
I agree. The ACLU has been a growing disappointment and seems to have lost the plot in the Trump era.
They lean left but do cases on both sides also. The ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice) is the conservative version & sometimes both organizations work on the same case together.
Yes both seem to do a good job

They defend both sides but Democrats grin and bear it when Republicans are defended but Republicans cry and wail like teenagers being asked to do the dishes when Democrats are defended. So, the average apolitical person passively absorbs the message that the ACLU is liberal, since that's the only message out there.
The same is true of the economy. It doing pretty awesome under Biden but the people who point that out are immediately squelched by the media whereas the people who complain are given unlimited air time. The apolitical absorb the message that's repeated the most.
Those are EXCEPTIONAL points!
The ACLU couldn't tell me what year we declared independence from the British parliament, much less name any of the amendments to the constitution
I have no clue why you would prefer those lies but ok
They are mostly liberal. All the lawyers care about is liberal causes. Bunch of moonbats.
That's simply not true and you know it
They're most infamous defense, the KKK in Skokie IL
As @Lliam described, the ACLU is not unbiased.
Rights are liberal.
Huh?
I said it. Rights are a liberal value. Conservatives used to belieive in resisting change, usually to the benefit of established elites. Now they believe in going backwards.
Got it and agreed
What is a ACLU
lol, no they don’t.
