Many college students are drowning in debt because they cannot make enough money control the interest rates. I agree there should be financial support for other people, but that doesn’t mean that there shouldn’t be student loan forgiveness. When there are 20 people drowning and 5 get saved, the logical response is to question why the other 15 are not being saved, not demanding the 5 should drown too

That’s the problem. People who were responsible enough to pay off their loans or went directly into the workforce are the ones paying off the loans of irresponsible former students. It’s not my fault they’re “drowning in debt”. I shouldn’t have to pay for ANY of it. Your comparison of financially irresponsible people to people in actual life or death situations is pure nonsense. If someone chooses to pay rent or buy food instead of pay on a student loan, their credit goes down. They’re not actually dying. In the end, this decision was made to benefit the banks, not the loan recipients. This is where the leftist hypocrisy rears its ugly head. Cry foul about capitalism all day, then cheer when the fed gives the banks millions because of irresponsible loan recipients.
