Why is it ok for women hitting men but its not ok for men hitting women?

As a female and a person who's against violence. Violence is not a answer, I'm just surprised that society accepts women hitting men, and you call it equality?

I will use a story as an example.

I box, the first time I ever sparred hard a girl beat me up. She had been boxing for 6 years id been for 3 weeks. 2 later months into me boxing I could have knocked her out cold very easily.

Men on average are so physically stronger than a girl and even in our physiological builds our bones can take more damage.

Society wise, a woman is something to cherish or protect. There's a reason the saying is "women and children". To hit a women unprovoked is cowardly, the same as hitting a child though obviously not exactly the same.

That said I now believe if a woman hits me and continues forward to me without a clear way to exit or get her to stop I will hit her, and it won't be pretty.

I completely agree with you. If my partner hits me and it's not justified (like I didn't cheat on them or anything serious) then I'm likely leaving.

If a random girl hits me, and I smack her back in self defense I don't see it as I've done anything wrong. Just because you're a woman doesn't give you the right to smack any guy without getting smacked back.

I think the world in the west has gone insane. No one respects size or physical strength anymore. You wouldn't go up to a bear and smack it. So why do it to a guy?

Society passively accepts that men are generally born stronger than women, so, the magnitude of a slap or punch coming from a man is many times more harmful to a woman than the other way around, usually. However, we are not talking about female wrestlers, just the general population. This is why women hitting men is oftentimes not seen as abuse when it is categorically so. Sure, the guy might walk away with a scratch or two but a woman is likely to be on the ground with a black eye in 2 seconds flat.

it's true that statistically, men are stronger, but it doesn't mean that a slap or hit from a woman doesn't hurt... physically and emotionally... because it does hurt AF, just men don't show it, as they are taught rather to hide their emotions... especially those showing their vulnerability

It’s not okay for either, however if a 5’0 guy hit a 6’6 guy, people would be against the bigger guy hitting him back, same with a young teen hitting an adult. There is a large different between how most girls would hit a guy versus how a guy could hit a girl.

It's always about proportional force, in my opinion. Hitting back is always fine, but needs to be reasonable for the size and strength differences.

Pretty much this. If it's a very short, weaker person (regardless of gender), we can't overdo it with a very hard slap (applying too much force into that) either. That's would likely knock them down on the floor and give them a concussion. I might apply a mild shoving in that case, restrain them and leave.

Because men are much stronger physically than women. I've had several women I was dating randomly slap me across the face, and I can honestly say that I deserved it every time. That doesn't give me the right to strike her in retaliation, however.

lady overreacted slap man for minor stuff is shown on tv as if justified or step on guy toe or swing purse as if justified... many hits many times many shiws but but not real self defense nor balanced response.

I don't think it's ok for either gender. But women are considered the minority gender, the weaker gender (understand I'm not saying women are not equal to a man. But guys are generally stronger. And like it or not the power still resides mainly in patriarchy).
