The chant is irrelevant. I think it is inappropriate for either party to think that they are more patriotic or loyal or a better American than the other party. Everyone is a US citizen and needs to treat each other with some degree with respect no matter which party they affiliate with. I'm an independent so it is fun to watch both sides bicker at times.
