Apartment choice?

Having a hard time deciding! Please help!
2 options

1) Bottom floor two bed room apartment with hard wood floors
2) Forth floor one bed room with carpet (has elevator)

The two bed room is over $500 a month more. I like the hard wood floors and on ground floor with easy access for dogs.

The one bed room has prettier porch view. I love sitting outside on the porch. Having carpet is what holds me back. Carpet is hard to deal with when having dogs. I was thinking of getting a plastic mat on Amazon to cover the carpet and get a water proof area rug. I hope that works!

I'd go the two bedder. How many lifts and how old? if more than 20 years old there will be breakdowns. If 50+ there will be more frequent failures. Not so bad if 2 or more lifts but a pain if only one.

Is there another functioning fire exit off the 4th floor? Stairs im sure, they got cameras throughout in spots? Definitely 4th floor one bedroom is all you need. Get a pistol.. A gun that's right. Learn to use it. Get 2.. shotgun on one side of the apartment hidden.. Pistol on the other side.. Either way you run.. There's a way to definitely defend yourself. Get the 4th floor. God Bless

Is not having the carpet worth paying $500/month ($6000/year) for? For me the answer would be hell no. You may even be able to get a kid to clean your carpet once a week for like a fifth of that price if you really don’t want to do it yourself.

i'm in a flat on the second floor. ground floor all the way if you can afford it frankly.

First floor will be the best for both of you, especially the dog.
