Why is it hard for people to admit they are biased?

Whenever I tell people they are biased they don't like it even if its true.

Cause people are stupid and stubborn, and putting real thought into things either takes to much effort or makes them feel uncomfortable.

We are conditioned with biases from a young age starting in school, I'm sure for example 2 countries that had a war in the past teach children about it in different ways cause everyone is biased or has convinced themselves they were the side in the right and fighting for justice. Or how there are hundreds of religions but everyone is biased and thinks their religion is the one and only truth.

Plus our advanced communication that should bring us all together actually divides us into little sanctions and groups cause everyone ends up in little echo chambers of people they agree with instead of "arguing" with people who have a different perspective.

Because they don't want to hear anything negative about themselves. They want to appear godly so they don't admit when there's something wrong.

How do you know it's true? How do you know it isn't you that a biased?

Are you the ultimate authority on truth and everyone else has to conform to your opinion about what constitutes the truth?

What makes you so sure that you're right and they are wrong?

If I were you I would be very concerned about thinking that you are the judge of what is biased and what is not. You may find that other people will apply that same standard to you and make you suffer consequences because of what they perceive as YOUR bias.

Be careful because that judgment is a two-edge sword.

Yes, if someone is "sexist" they are by definition biased. But their interpretation of what is sexist isn't gospel no matter how convinced you are that you are right. Are you so arrogant and self-important that you feel you are the definer of the language and therefore anyone who has a different view is necessarily wrong?

It is very unclear what you mean by that, but I get the idea. You are a closed minded, self centered person, probably with an inferiority complex, who cannot accept that your view of the world isn't the only one with any merit. I always mention I'm biased when I am. I don't think there's anything wrong with being biased. Every view people have is based on their own experiences (bias).

It's the same with generalizations. Generalizations come from observations of the majority. People are some offended by generalizations, but they are normal

It's not about it being weird it's about the gender difference. That's a bias but it doesn't matter
