I’m not sure exactly what the states pay, but I do think there should be a cap on it. A man shouldn’t have to fork up $10,000 a month or something ridiculous like that just cause he makes $50,000 a month. A lot of men get screwed on child support as well as alimony. A lot of women say raising kids is expensive. Maybe. To a degree. I think the ones who say it’s expensive want top of the line brand name stuff for their kids. These kids running around in Nike shoes, $300 strollers, etc. Then they want to run around in name brand things theirselves. I think the state should require women who are receiving child support from the man to produce receipts on what the money was spent on. I get things like groceries, gas, maybe tires for the car. But I know plenty of women who have used it on their self. No just cause she’s taking care of the child doesn’t mean she deserves to “spoil” herself a little w the money she gets from the man. It’s funny a lot of these women say they’re strong, independent but won’t say no to getting court ordered child support. Why not just give the child to the men. Guarantee you like me, a majority of the men aren’t going to ask for child support from the woman. There may be a handful of women who don’t fit this narrative, but a lot of them do.
good point. i agree. stop rewarding mother for divorcing their husbands. give the SAME the state paid.. THAT is the amount.

The amount the state divvies to foster parents is equivalent to that state’s idea of how much a child should cost to care for, depending on how much of the income the individual foster parent makes. The less they make at work, the more the state pays and vice versa. In regards to child support, the parent that makes more pays more. The reason this is the father rather than the mother most of the time is because, on average, men make more money per hour than women. Why this is I couldn’t tell you, I’m sure there’s a slew of complicated reasons but if there is joint custody and the mother makes more money than the father then she is liable for child support. This is all in the interests of the child’s wellbeing and keeping with the standard of living they’ve known while living with this couple.
Okay
No, in my opinion. If he earns much more than that, why should she have to scrape by on the bare minimum?
Instead of child support. The alimony should be limited to what the state pays for foster children! That might reduce the number of divorces!
No. It should be enough to maintain kids in line with life theyre accostumed to.
No the ex spouse/parent who pays vhild support
Get real. That would not stop divorces.
What a load. Where is the source of this false information.
