I also believe the bank will never ever collect nor will the government ever pay ANY of it.

But the arguments about debt ceiling show the problem.

Republicans say cut spending. Democrats say raise taxes.

And google says 9/10 search results "goood to raise debt ceiling"... so you can be certain it is bad.

Trump is the only one proposing an actual solution for the debt. ECONOMIC GROWTH THROUGH A MASSIVE INCREASE IN ENERGY PRODUCTION.

That is the answer. Not only will it grow the American economy into prosperity making the debt seem trivial, but it will bankrupt Russia and Iran at the same time by driving down fossil fuel prices.

He had Russia and Iran near bankruptcy in his first term buy increasing US energy production and putting sanctions on them. The moment Biden took office he cut the production and removed the sanctions. That allowed Russia to fund the war in Ukraine and Iran to fund the war in Israel.

IT IS ALL CONNECTED. And Trump is the only one who ***GETS IT***.

I am of the opinion, as many of our founders were the goverment should not collectively hold dept.

Unlike our founders who's solutions were constrained by the technology of the time to solutions like Gold standards and balanced budgets.
Today we can not only do that but we can technically distribute the dept immediately to the citizenry and charge them interest as individuals on the same, creating a level of electoral responsibility for spending.

This would be expressly useful for local and State Governments who's citizenry are more mobile.

When the government is taking away YOUR MONEY that YOU EARNED by force and using it to pay off other peoples' college loans, give free housing, education, medical care, food and allowance to people who are in our country illegally and to fritter away on endless waste, fraud and abuse, at what point does it become tyranny and robbing you of your freedom to spend the fruits of your labor as YOU please?

Of course they should be spending less. But we're off the page now. I remember the first election I became interested in politics George H. W. Bush vs. Clinton. Remember how the national debt was 3 trillion and it was talked about like an pretty much insurmountable debt then. Well here we are over 30 years later. How many politicians do you even hear talk about the national debt anymore? None! I don't even think today's breed of politician even cares to hide that they have no intention of reducing the debt. I think each president that gets elected anymore says to themselves " I only got to keep it together for 4 years... possibly 8. After that it's somebody else's problem". Some of that has always been true. But anymore I think this is a runaway train that they know they have no will (even if they had the ability) to stop it. So all they are trying to do is keep it on the tracks as long as they can.

I think Alexander Tytler said it best to centuries ago

I will add that President Trump has the best approach to the debt of all the candidates. Without getting into the details the concept is that growth of the economy is the answer. Economic growth mitigates the debt of course the same way household income mitigates the cost of household debt. And his plan for growth starts with a vast increase in energy production which is the underlying foundation for the entire economy as well as American strength.

they don't need to tax it, they will type it up and sell bonds.

I am retired and I think the government spends too much money. Foreign wars, illegal aliens, wasteful social programs, and stupid grants for useless projects should all be cut. The litmus test should be "does this directly help Americans?" If the answer is no it should be cut. Bureaucrat's and politicians say itis more complicated than that. The truth is it is actually very simple. It is all the backroom deals that would put the rest of us in jail that makes it look complected.
