I've been stopped several times with my firearm on me. It never went like this video. My guess is the cop got a bit nervous when the driver kept acting squirrelly and reaching for his firearm. At that point he disarmed him for officer safety. Never seen that done with the driver still in the vehicle though.. - 1 y
@spartan55 ok - thanks for the experienced comment. I've never had any of it happen to me...

When you are issued a CHL (concealed handgun license) you have certain rules to abide by in order to carry legally. I live in a 'duty to notify' state, meaning if I get contacted by the police I am required to disclose: if I'm carrying presently, where is the firearm located on your person. In my CHL class they said to do the following: turn your vehicle off, turn dome light on (nighttime), put both hands on the steering wheel and wait for instructions from the officer. - 1 y
@spartan55 If guns make us safe…why are you required to tell the cop about yours?

1 yFirst, I’m #NotARepublican I’m a classic liberal, and I’m from an immigrant family, and didn't emigrate to the US until I was 6. My family on both sides are liberal party members, however, they recently left the Democrat party because they believe it's gone too far left) and we are all gun owners. I just wanted to tell you that there is insurance that will pay for 100% of any legal expenses if you are unfortunately in a self defense situation, where you need to fire at an intruder. In my state, if you shoot someone in your home, the likelihood of even being arrested is almost zero! (one of the sheriffs here (Pasco County I believe) actually requested that citizens come to the sheriffs department and take shooting classes so that when they shoot intruders, stating "personally I would much prefer it if you killed the intruder, that way you save the county millions!”) So getting arrested for self-defense in your home here is almost nonexistent. However, if you are arrested after a self-defense incident using your firearm, I can think of three different companies that offer a very low cost insurance policy that will pay all of your legal fees. (also, in the Rittenhouse case, I believe all of his legal fees were paid, but he is currently facing civil lawsuits, and there are several GoFundMe that have raised over $110,000 to cover his legal fees according to ChatGPT.)

I’m confused by your question, and it’s assumption. Could you do me a favor and point out EXACTLY where a wrote that "Dems are more radical than republicans”?
Thanks, Laura. - 1 y

@OddBeMe I’m NOT a Republican either… What’s your point? Even Bill Maher says the let wing of the Democrat party has gone WAY too far. I don’t care about the crazies in the far right of the Republican party because I’m not a Republican, and I never was a Republican. I WAS a Democrat, however! And yes, I believe that the far left, has gone WAY too far, and the centrists have moved too far left, because they are pandering to the far left elements in their party! As for who’s worse… Well I consider people’s actions over their platitudes, and the difference between how Biden/Harris, (now Harris/Walz) supporters treat someone wearing a Trump shirt, over how the Trump supporters treat that same man, now wearing a Biden/Harris shirt speaks volumes! I’m don’t want to vote for either, but yeah, the difference is pretty stark! Just watch for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/J70iXXNniFM

Here's how you piss off good gun owners.
You can't use your gun in self defense without millions of dollars going to lawyers. People are that stupid even in red states how self defense works.
I'm a hardcore leftist who had jury duty and basically a couple rented a basement area and the landlord truck as fuck was told to leave dozen times touch the bed cornering them and said this is my house put his hand behind his back and ultimately shot in the face.
I was fighting tooth and nail for the guy and no one had any clue what self defense meant even after getting it in writing by the judge. Boomer old fucks.
Even the cops at the crime scene half assed everything knowing it was self defense. It was only after being awake for 24 hours plus the guy talked to the cops and trapped him using the word "snap". To me personally I think "snap" is capable with self defense. Do or die SNAP something happened before you know what happened and you are standing the other person is not alive.
But apparently boomers are perfect abertrator of their future with perfect accuracy.
So this is how we get pro gun people in line with some level of registration. You can't use it in self defense without millions of dollars like kyle rittenhouse that he got "pro bono" free for common good in Latin I think. Still cost millions for others.

1 yWe have an unhealthy obsession with guns. Less guns via mental health checkups, licenses, permits, regulations, universal national background checks, and raising the age to purchase firearms would decrease the amount of gun violence.
People die in car accidents so we made a DMV & license & registration & vehicle recalls & etc.
People tried to terrorize planes for their own gain so we made detectors, taking off shoes, can’t bring knives or other weaponry, made rules stricter, etc.
People die in school shootings everyday in this country, don’t tell me that we are just going to sit idly by while more children are going to die just like men on a battlefield….

1 yComparing apples to concrete blocks.
It creates issues for law enforcement and it can result in escallations where goes worse.
But some times a person saves their life or lives of others by having firearm. shooting in the mall where guy took down shooter, is one example.
What makes us safer is very well trained and disciplined people, stop committing crimes, better distribution of wealth in the country, protecting borders from those that are trouble or not trained/conditioned. Ultimately, parents... good ones, make us safer. we should invest in parents, get kids out of foster care, get the corrupted kids invading out of the country or into support systems.
The other thing is that if we ban guns... criminals don't obey such laws, there's a black market, they can print up or buy them and they are armed and still shoot cops and others.

things change when you put on a uniform. if people were loving and respectful and there were no crazy, drugged up criminals and some that happily would kill a cop... then wouldn't have a problem. problem is, we have humans... cops have to be on guard all the time. plenty of videos on that... they never know when someone is a threat.

1 yMost cops don’t hate guns many are gun owners themselves, every cop is different law enforcement officers don’t think in a hivemind so some maybe have different opinions then others.
I think what most cops don’t want is to be shot, you don’t know whose going to pull a weapon on you especially because law enforcement deals with seemingly normal people all the time who turn out to be loons, criminals, and the list goes on. You trust nobody at the end of the day.
Good people owning guns makes us safer obviously the criminals are going to find ways to obtain them. But let’s take guns away and defund the police! But then when a black criminal has a gun oh it’s racism to prosecute him. But let’s say even a black American with Trump flags oh take his guns.

1 yIt's because of how they're trained. Cops are basically brainwashed into hating the public.
They think the best way to keep them safe is to make them fearful of everything instead of training them to be ready for anything.
