Any able bodied woman can be completely independent in western society if she wanted to?

For the record I am completely fine with women pursuing high level careers and being fully independent. I am even happy we live in a country were a woman can run for president if she wants to. While I believe Kamala Harris’ policy would be horrible for our country that doesn’t mean I am against women running for president.

But I am pissed off how her campaigners use the “oh her detractors are just misogynists” bs. Most men who are voting against her just don’t like her policy. It has nothing to do with her just being a woman.

But I am beyond fed up with women bragging about being “strong and independent” in the modern western society. Any woman could be 100% financially and socially independent from men if she wants to in 2024. In fact she will often have an advantage her equal male counterpart when it comes to corporations hiring and promoting her to be “woke”.

Anyway it’s nothing to brag about in 2024. In fact it should come as no surprise that women are able to achieve this level of independence since they are “equal to men”, right? It should be the natural order of things.

Now this would all be a different story for women living in middle eastern countries. But I am just sick of hearing “we are fighting against patriarchy” in west. Sure you will find isolated incidents but it’s not mainstream and hasn’t been for quite some time.

They give women super citizen status which they sustain with the "right to murder" their own children so they can live childless as men with boobs.

Working for the ego of work and the enrichment of their boss rather than to live with their family.

My wife refers to such people as slaves, because that is what slaves really do. They forgo their own personal life and that of their family to enrich someone else's.
Historically however slaves were smart enough to recognize that fact and resist it, which is why they had to be forced. That is what makes theses people worse.

But whenever you see a woman and/or minority politician run as a republican notice how liberals and the media treat them. All of the sudden the gender/race factor is a non factor. Because they are really after communism and wealth redistribution. It’s not about “gender/race” equality.

@MzAsh labels like “misogynist”, “racist”, etc. carry a lot of weight in modern society and are used to instill fear. It can damage someone’s reputation, threaten their livelihood, endanger their career and even physically endanger them. Cancel culture is very real.

I think one real concern is that a significant gender pay gap still exits. But it is closing and the latest statistics show it now to be only 16% difference. My biggest concern, personally, is with how families with two working parents arrange for the best care of their children. And the whole "woke" issue is another valid concern. I think we are missing a big part of "equal". I think it is important to see men and women as "equal, yet different."

There is a major different between equality and the new bs term “equity”.

Feminists want to immediately chalk up the 16% pay gap as “sexism” while completely ignoring the details of how men are more likely to work overtime, negotiate harder for better raises, take more risks, etc.

The whole overturning of roe vs wade comes down to moving away from centralized power and mandates. California shouldn’t be telling Texas what to do or vice versa.

@MzAsh well it’s about getting away from centralized authoritarian power. That is something our country was founded on. State and local jurisdictions should be able to vote in their own laws and statues. It also gives the American citizen the right to leave the state if they don’t like their local politicians and laws (but you aren’t leaving your country)

I’m from Colorado and have lived her most of my life. The entire state has radically changed in a very short period of time and NOT for the better.

I am horrified and disgusted about some of changes that hace happened. Denver has turn into a sh*thole

But at the end of the day I have to accept that the (idiot) majority voted this crap in and also choose our moron governor Jared Polis. I can complain all day about it but he was democratically elected. That’s what the local majority wanted whether I like it or not.

I have the option to move to another state if I want to (easier said then done with my circumstances). But I don’t think it would be right to have a centralized power in Washington DC control to override local state.

For example Polis enacted legislation in 2019 to make Colorado a sanctuary state for illegal aliens. That was a HORRIBLE idea. We now have Venezuelan gangs taking over entire apartment complexes out here.

But let’s say Trump got elected. Would I be okay with him using centralized power to override our state’s sanctuary status? No I would not. Even though I would love for that to happen I know it’s wrong and authoritarian. Even though he will crack down on the border he can’t interfere with local enacted laws that are constitutionally outside of federal jurisdiction.
