Why is it when a woman just does all the things a normal adult is supposed to do she’s called an “independent woman” ?

We never use this terminology for men. We never hear someone say “independent man,” they just say “man.” Women get to wear kids gloves with everything. Must be nice

Yeah, it's pretty stupid isn't it? As if a woman isn't supposed to be able to support herself.

Cave men think women are supposed to live with their parents until they get married. They aren't supposed to get an education, job or career. They are supposed to be completely dependent on a man for survival.

I agree that women should do the things that normal adults are supposed to do. Although it's perfectly fine if they chose to be housewives and mothers if that's what they want.

lol exactly!!! Bingo you got it. Men don’t advertise themselves as plus size models. We don’t shame women for not dating fat men as fat phobic. Women tend to come up w all these terms to make themselves feel better, because it’s all about their feelings. Not logic. Women who sleep around are empowering theirselves, owning their sexuality lol how is it empowering yourself if you’re giving the men what they want? Society treats women w delicate hands because many of them can’t accept the truth or live in a world that we as men live in. They say we have much easier lives, but that’s cause most men don’t go around talking about our feelings, our lives, etc. We continue to move forward. W a lot of women it’s always something. Something at their job, their friends, someone yelled at me, the kids, I’m not happy, etc, etc. Many of them are on antidepressants these days.

They don't. The only time the words "independent women" are ever spoken is when people are having some sort of debate about the phrase and the people who use it. Nobody actually goes around calling women that except a few liberal women.

The only people who use the term "independent women" are those women who are trying to pat themselves on the back for being able to wipe their own asses and tie their own shoes.
