We can just rest assured that the migrants are mostly men, and not the far more violent women my liberal brothers and sisters. They're running from the women in their countries, obviously.

Anonymous(25-29)1 yYeah i dont feel safe, & neither does my sister or her fiance.
If Harris is elected I expect medical care to at least go back up to the level it was before abortion bans so if my family has a pregnancy (despite proper precautions, again) we can access halfway-decent care.
I expect the student loan forgiveness to go through so my sister wouldn't have to worry about those monthly payments & would have some buffer so if another job has to do layoffs she won't be at immediate risk of losing housing.
I expect the media will much sooner chill out with the false rumors about immigrants so sister's fiance will stop getting harassed about it so much by strangers just cuz she's brown.
Other stuff too, but that's just hopefully. These are the main ones i actually expect.

And you will feel even more safe when hyperinflation skyrockets which cause more societal malaise, urban decay and increased crime levels.
There is no such thing as “free” money. The government just prints out more money which devalues the currency. The economy and crime levels are directly related.
Opinion Owner1 y@blueonblack22 i pay taxes. I want my taxes going to help people who live here. Education, Healthcare, safety, housing. I don't want to pay for another hundred tanks to blow up foreigners. I want to pay for my own people to have better lives and communities. What the fuck is wrong with that?
- 1 y
I am glad you pay taxes and I do too. But speaking of two raging taxpayer funded wars abroad: whose administration did these start under? Also do you really trust Kamala Harris to effectively negotiate with foreign leaders like Putin, Zelensky, Netanyahu, Iranian leaders, etc. to end this carnage?
Trump love him or hate him knows how to negotiate. He knows how to make a deal. We had relative world peace when he was in office.
Kamala can’t even sit down for an interview what she might get asked a tough questions or two. Seriously there are been more assassination attempts on Trump than one on one interviews with Kamala Harris.
Is that someone you can trust as a strong leader?
Opinion Owner1 y@blueonblack22 lol you're delusional. Trump literally got laughed at to his face by world leaders. He loves dictators. He wrote love letters to one and another one has people trying to spread misinformation on Harris to help him win the election. He pulled us out of an important cooperation group for the whole fucking planet, and he did nothing to end any wars while in office. Harris has problems with war policy, yes, but not close to as bad as Trump. He can't even be trusted with his own country why the fuck should anyone trust him in dealing with other ones?
- 1 y
Simple question:
Were we dealing with two overseas raging taxpayer funded wars during the Trump administration or not?
Opinion Owner1 y@blueonblack22 simple answer: yes. There was Iraq and Syria and Iran.
- 1 y
Were those wide-scale raging wars?
There is always going to be ongoing military conflict abroad. But we did we get all out Russo-Ukraine war which has resulted in deaths and casualties we haven’t seen since WW2? And if Putin and Trump were so cozy then why didn’t Putin invade the Ukraine during the Trump administration? Trump would have went soft in response, right? Or maybe Putin saw Trump as unpredictable (which is deterred him) vs Biden as senile and feckless when he displayed gross incompetence on the world stage when with the Afghanistan pull out. Maybe that EMBOLDENED Putin and emboldened American enemies in the Middle East.
But all that aside I have one simple analogy for this. Let’s say I got a major plumbing issue in my house. I got a choice to hire two contractors. The first is smelly, gross, loud YET skilled and competent at getting the job done. The other contractor is fresh faced, friendly, kind yet has no skill or track record at solving the problem. Hell he can’t even tell me how he is going to solve the problem. Who do think I will hire?
So many leftists want to believe anybody voting for Trump is just some knuckle dragging maga worshiping bigoted red neck. WRONG. Some Trump “supporters” are but a lot of them are not. Some people actually recognize that POLICY > PERSONALITY.
Seriously what has Kamala accomplished as VP that has me convinced that she will be better than Trump when it comes to handling hyperinflation, the economy, the border crisis and the raging wars abroad? What is detailed policy has she provided?
But I know you got your mind made up. But maybe some Americans care about policy issues that IMPACT EVERYONE when it comes to elections. Maybe I could care less about rhetoric and optics as long the candidate is actually good at the job.
Opinion Owner1 y@blueonblack22 so "war" isn't simple enough for you? What "detailed policy" did Trump provide that makes you think he would handle things better than Harris? The main policy he aligns with is project 2025 and he says he knows NOTHING about that. So what are you going based on? Rhetorics and optics?
- 1 y
“ The main policy he aligns with is project 2025”. That lie has been rehashed and circulated ad nauseam and because leftists WANT to believe it. It validates their deranged TDS fear that Trump is “a dictator”. Was Trump a “third reich dictator” during his first term? Was he putting minorities in box cars, using the government to control citizens (Biden has done this) and starting wars?
It’s all very simple. Were Americans doing better under the Trump administration vs the Biden administration which Kamala is directly tied to being VP? Really it’s that simple. Talk is cheap.
Opinion Owner1 y@blueonblack22 again you move the goalposts. I say "yes there was war" since you ask me, and you say "there's always gonna be military conflict abroad." I say "what policy does Trump have?" Since you care so much about policy, and you say "talk is cheap." You don't actually care about these things, you just use them against Harris when she isn't perfect. Trump does much Morse than her and you change and lower the standards for him. Don't pretend you want a simple answer you have proved you will twist anything simple to fit your narrative.

Previous to the Biden administration I was making a lot more money (hyperinflation reduced my real earnings by 14%) and my city was a lot safer (we are a sanctuary city for illegal migrants). That’s where I have been directly impacted by the Biden administration (who again Kamala Harris IS directly tied to).
How can I trust Kamala Harris to solve the problems that she HELPED CREATE under the Biden administration?
Opinion Owner1 y@blueonblack22 oh shit more crime and immigrants? Are you in the city that's been getting all those bomb threats because of Trump/Vance spreading the eating cats lies? Oh wait...
I already told you my own concerns that Trump definitely won't fix and Harris likely will. You having your own personal concerns too is fine. Vote accordingly. I won't try to explain your own reasoning to you, you can do the research or ask for help if you want it. Not my job to educate you about crime statistics and inflation levels...- 1 y
I am from Colorado and have lived her for most of my life. I can see for myself exactly what disgusting insanity has happened to Denver under leftist governance.
It used to be a relatively safe family friendly fun place. Not any more. Now it’s turning into littered homeless fentanyl overdosing infested shit hole and illegal immigration has put the problem on steroids.
Also as for you “educating me on inflation”. I know what I made 4 years ago and what I make now (same job same company) and I know to use an inflation calculator. I know what I make now goes much less further then it did just 4 years ago thanks to Bidenflation.
But you should let your “inflation is no big deal” be your schtick. Seriously just go around telling people that the economy is fine and hyperinflation an issue. Tell them that the better economic situation they thought they had when Trump was in office was just “all in their imagination” and they need to get “educated” about the economy. Seriously preach that to people and I’m sure they all magically want to vote for Harris. Just do it.
Opinion Owner1 y@blueonblack22 did you see inflation go down under Trump? Did you see crime go down? How about drugs and homelessness? (Now that we're talking about that, and not war or policies.)
I never said inflation is no big deal, so where are you quoting that from? Trump? I assume not. I said i was NOT going to educate you on these things. You are smart you can figure out for yourself if you want to. Im just asking questions since you did feel the need to try and educate me about shit.- 1 y
I do not worship Trump as a demigod nor do I think he will magically solve our nations problems.
But if you can remove all the “feelings”, mass media brainwashing and preconceived notions (project 2025) and really compared each candidate side by side when it comes to their accomplishments, failures and their plans one candidate stands out to me as a better option.
Also (not saying you are like this) I do have a bit of grudge about how leftists have talked to and treated anybody who even “admit” or hint they plan to vote for Trump. Like that makes me a “Nazi orange shirt” or some bullsh*t. I notice young liberal women are especially discriminatory on how they react to anybody who votes (or plans to vote) for Trump.
Opinion Owner1 y@blueonblack22 I'm sorry you've been assumed to be a Nazi by strangers. I think it would help people understand you have good reasons for voting for Trump if you could list a few of those accomplishments, failures, and especially plans that make him stand out to you as the better option. I never said you worship him, just that you have moved the goalposts for him several times during our discussion. That doesn't make you evil but it does make your motives very hard to understand.
- 1 y
Yes you have been calm while debating me. Thank you because it’s rare (especially when I am interacting with a young liberal female). And I live in a blue state and it would be “optically” easier for me to be a liberal. Also I work in tech (which is 80%+ liberal) and it makes my life difficult there too.
But let’s be real I am not going to change your mind or vice versa. But my reasons for voting for Trump comes down to policy. He had our countryl in much better shape (economy, foreign policy, border, etc.) during his first term compared to the Biden administration. Definitely not voting for him because of optics. It’s weird because he gets the hard part right (policy) and the easy part wrong (optics/self control).
But like my plumber analogy I care about getting the job done. Kamala Harris won’t even give 1 on a interviews to discuss her exact policy. How can I trust a candidate like that? - 1 y
Also want to say that even if Trump wins I am not looking forward to the leftist response to it. I can’t tell you how many people (particularly women) would bring up Trump within 5 mins of just meeting them back in 2017.
Opinion Owner1 y@blueonblack22 you've mentioned his policies several times. I've never heard someone who votes for him actually name any of his policies though. I believe you're reasonable but since you still haven't given examples of any policy, I can't change my mind because I have no reason to. I don't know you well enough to trust your opinion on a policy, I'd need to know the actual policy that is good to know that your reason is good and there is good reason to vote for Trump.
Definitely sympathize with not looking foreward to the other sides response either way... my husband's family is very conservative and they could not stop talking about it last election after he lost. I hope this time if he loses he sticks to his word and doesn't run again, so the support can finally die down and move to other Republicans who may have both good policy and good optics. Good luck however things go.- 1 y
Well miss anon. Please spell out where you are confused about where I “moved the goal posts”. Do it in numbers (point 1, point 2, etc).
Opinion Owner1 yPoint 1: War.
You pointed out wars under Biden as being Harris' fault, holding them to a high standard that they should have avoided, gotten out of, or ended the wars we are currently involved in. You dismissed the wars under Trump by saying there will always be conflict abroad, as if he shouldn't have been expected to also avoid, get out of, or end foreign wars when we were involved with them under HIS leadership. This is a clear lowering of the standards for Trump compared to Harris.
Point 2: Policy.
You say policy matters over personality (so Harris being more professional/charismatic than Trump is irrelevant). When I asked you what some of Trump's policies were though, since these were what you say matter most, you avoided the question by only answering that his policy was NOT project 2025. I had already granted it was not project 2025 and had clearly asked for examples of what his policy WAS.
Point 3: Everyday Life.
You said that over the years under Democrat leadership, life in your city got worse. It has more 1) homelessness, 2) drug abuse, 3) illegal immigrants, and 4) crime in general. You blame Biden and Harris for things getting worse during their leadership. So I asked you, did these (4) things improve under Trump? You again moved the goalposts by saying you didn't expect Trump to magically solve all your problems because you don't think he's a god.
You repeatedly expect perfect performance and immediate results from Harris, but you give Trump a whole lot of leniency and always the benefit of the doubt. Please just hold Harris and Trump to the SAME standard, whether that means you raise the standard for Trump or you lower it for Harris. You can't have it both ways and expect an honest good faith conversation, I'm sorry.- 1 y
That’s a fair and cogently structured response above. Mind you that I use my mobile phone on GAG so it’s going to take me a while to properly respond and copy/paste references if I need them.
But I will start with WAR. Donald Trump explicitly stated that “he isn’t in the business of changing countries”. Throughout his first term he really did follow his word. There were no major military conflicts happening the Middle East. Trump organized and got the Abraham Accords signed which was historic but completely downplayed by the mass media. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Accords
Trump initiated peace talks with North Korea and Kim Jung Un. Now I don’t like how he kissed Kim Jung Un’s ass. But we are dealing with a very dangerous rogue country that has nuclear arms. We have never had in person peace talks with a North Korean dictator. Yes Trump smoozed with Kim Jung Un but again this is a very dangerous geopolitical foe and Trump de-escalated tensions diplomatically.
Trump was also tough on Iran and didn’t agree to Obama’s bullshit peace agreement (where the United Stated gave them pallets of billions in cash which can be used for terrorism). Now under the Biden administration Irans influence went unchecked and spawned multiple terrorist proxies causing chaos and destruction the Middle East including Hamas. Hezbollah and the Houthi’s. In fact the f*cking Biden delisted the Houthi’s as terrorist organization which is insane. - 1 y
Trump was also respected by Vladimir Putin. Sure their relationship got mocked by the mass media as “a love affair” and Russian collusion nonsense. But in reality Putin saw Trump as unpredictable which is a GOOD THING for deterrence.
Trump also had the Afghanistan situation under control. The United States had a skeletal presence in that country but it was necessary to ensure peace because the afghan army was completely dependent on coalition air support and technology. When Biden pulled the rug out underneath them it literally castrated the afghan army and they were easily overrun by the Taliban. - 1 y
Now Trump was responsible for negotiating a peace deal with Taliban. But that was extremely structured and had multiple requirements that needed to be fulfilled before the coalition forces would withdraw from Afghanistan. Biden on the other hand had senile tunnel vision about being “the president who ended America’s longest war” and rushed out forces out there. He got hundreds of innocent afghan civilians killed (including US allies), 13 American service members killed, a collapsed country subjected to sharia law and millions of women now subjected to servitude and sexual slavery. He also left billions of dollars do high tech US military equipment in the hands of the Taliban.
What’s even worse is this displayed incompetence and fecklessness on the world stage. Russia invade the Ukraine only a few months later. Do you think that was all a coincidence?
Now do I believe Trump would be a “ perfect” leader when it comes foreign policy? No and f*ck no. But he is BETTER at it and has a track record of effective diplomacy. What track record does Harris have? - 1 y
I will let you take all of that in above for the first point (about WAR). But when it comes to foreign policy please try to convince me why Kamala Harris would be a better option for foreign diplomacy and conflict de-escalation than Trump? Trump is already confident that he could negotiate a peace agreement with Putin and Zelenskyy. Now will it go down the way Trump says it will (him promising it would be over before he even takes office in January if elected is a stretch). I highly doubt it. But Trump is VERY GOOD at making deals. I am confident he will end it one way or another.
But WTF is Kamala Harris’ plan to end the Russo-Ukraine war?

1 yI am sick of women whining about not feeling safe when men are the vast majority of victims of violent crime, workplace accidents, and even rape if count prison. Women in the USA are the safest and most privileged they have ever been, and they don't lack any rights that men have.
And STFU about abortion, I can't get an abortion either.

1 yMaternal deaths in red states have increased after Roe V. Wade. States now ban abortion or make it difficult to be able to get one even in risk to life of the individual, rape, incest, sexual abuse, child abuse, sexual assault, drugging, birth control failure, and more. Those women didn’t ask for that and women in extremist Texas don’t feel safe.
10 Reply 8.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. There is a big difference between feeling safe and actually being safe. Feelings don't determine reality and that is something the wackos in the left refuse to understand.
Maybe, just maybe, the reason you might feel fear for your own safety due to the people around you is because of your preconceived notion about them and not what they have specifically done to you.

@Caroline91 by the same people you are with now or by different people who you are not with at the moment and feel unsafe?
- 1 y
@Snakeyes7 Not the people you are with, but your past experiences such as stalking, assault, rape.
- 1 y
@Caroline91 Are the people you are currently feeling unsafe around responsible for those things that have happened to you? If not, then you have no reason to be afraid and you need help.
I used to be like that with women for the same reason until I had this same epiphany. Not only is it intellectually dishonest to be afraid of those who aren't responsible for your suffering, it also isn't fair to them that you are treating them as if they were. - 1 y
@Snakeyes7 I have learned that it is wise to have an abundance of caution in circumstances where you don't know someone yet. I can still treat someone with kindness and respect while being cautious at the same time.
- 1 y
@Caroline91 I can understand caution like not trusting them with personal and private information but jumping to thinking that you are in danger is at least a step too far.

@Snakeyes7 Intellectually, I agree with you.

23 Reply- 1 y
I agree... cities scare the shit out of me because of the "darkness" that lives there. The other degenerates that humans seem to create seem to be as thick as thieves in cities.
I'm military (executive type) so it's cities I get moved to across the US and I've seen so much shit across the United States cities. To make it worse I spent the last 4 years of my young adulthood living in the LA area... by myself with no parents before I was finally old enough to join the military. - 1 y
@V_Injector I haven't seen every city in America but these cities were scary. Like something out of those movies set in the future
- 1 y
It is the future... and I think some of those people out there who get to live in homes that have these things called a yard that's theirs... have no idea what they're in for.
The rise in population might be declining as they say... but the population is still rising. Get ready for that cultural enrichment people.
