I am in a fight with my landlord over a Trump flag. What shall I do?

I have a Trump "fight" flag in my window. My apartment complex sent me an email and left a letter at my door requesting I remove it. I declined and told the assistant property manager I called the news station. I also told her I will tell the news about the sketchy people walking around smoking weed.

I had a brief conversation with the manager today before closing. I told him I am standing my ground and will fight him until the end.

If there is nothing in your lease agreement or city laws that ban window signage over a certain size or some sort of HUD agreement or health and safety provisions that prohibits blocking windows it’s really none of his business how you decorate your home when you are leasing it from him. So long as you are not damaging the property he doesn’t get a say in that. You rented the space, so you should be able to use it without interference so long as you aren’t breaking the law.

If you're renting an apartment from a private party, you must abide by their rules. And they're not obligated to abide by the Constitution. The owner was completely within his rights. You should either just take down the flag or move. There's no need to go to the news and ruin his business!

I pay astronomical rent to a large corporate apartment complex and they refuse to release me from my lease, despite voicing financial hardships from them. If they want me to take my freedom of speech elsewhere, I will be happy to do so as long as they release me with no penalty.

I read TCA code. An eviction notice doesn't necessarily mean I am removed after the notice expires. It means after the notices expiration, then it can proceed to a lawsuit. I can only be forcefully removed following a judge's ruling.
