Do we need a new law in place specifically aimed at false accusations of rape and DV?

It seems like whenever this is brought up, people dismiss the issue by saying that perjury is already illegal. I'm no legal expert, but I don't think perjury covers most false accusations because I don't see anyone getting in trouble for it. I got terrible luck, so I will use myself as an example. I got accused of beating a female classmate when I was in school (completely false never touched or spoke to her) and another girl tried to say I assaulted her at a party I wasn't even at. I didn't go to court for either incident, so there's no "perjury" to apply here. Maybe I could have sued them, but that seems pretty costly and inefficient. I'd have felt more confident bringing these incidents up in the past if there was a concrete law that says falsely accusing someone of sex or violent crimes is punishable by law. It just seems like a massive gray area otherwise.

With your logic how do you prove something didn't happen? Our legal system gives the burden to the prosecutor to gather evidence enough to get out of any grey zone.

Maybe, but its not the main priority, as those cases are less than 0,5% of all rape cases and the main reason for those false accusations is shame of a pregnancy.

Its far more likely an actuall rapist gets free without any punishment.

Falsely reporting a crime is already law, we don't need a new one. Rather, the existing law needs to be enforced. That currently isn't done because women should always be believed, or so the liberals say.
