I would expect these results to make some Democrats question the control which has been ceded to the far left. However, the far left will not budge from their extremism. That creates the opportunity for the emergence of a third party, but I doubt that will actually happen. Most likely, the Democrats will need to suffer another round of losses in 2026 and maybe 2028, and the power of the far left will begin to wane.

I doubt it. They are already going through all the "racist", "sexist", "fascist" talking points. I think if anything, they may acknowledge that Kamala Harris was the absolute WORST presidential candidate in all of American history and that they made a very serious mistake in putting her up. They may admit that she was just a bad candidate and point out (correctly, mind you) that Trump's popular vote share didn't change that much since 2020.

Honestly, I think 2028 will be the true test of whether or not they've learned their lesson. It may even take two or three more presidential cycles. We will have to wait and see.

The party is dead. I expect the smart politicians to leave and either become republicans or to start a new party and the dumb ones to double down on socialism.

Their problem is locally their people are bat shit crazy, but when election rigging is prevented they are a minority party. They just don't have the numbers. Thus to keep local power they have to go crazier, which makes them nonviable nationally. The only reason they use to have the appearance of viability nationally was due to their criminal network of election rigging. As the cheating is dismantled, they can not longer compete.
