Should the government get rid of abortion rights?

Okay, so i personally am making this bc 1: i believe we shouldn't, simple as that, and i have my reasons which i will state below, and 2, @carolinagirl5 is being a jerk so i thought id post my opinions for all to see, instead of being shot down 😏

reasons why not: well for one, the government should not be meddling in womens rights and right to choose, thats just not okay, and it is literally in and apart of a woman, the baby cannot decide for itself💀 another thing is, it is killing a POTENTIAL baby, but in actuality, its killing off a clump of unconscious and unfeeling cells🤷‍♂️ now im not going to deny that there are unresponsive women who use the right to abort in not good ways, however making it illegal is not gonna stop it😂 it would only make it worse! What we should do, in my opinion, is educate women to be careful, but keep the right to abort, incase of an accident or rape.

Abortion, like any other medical procedure, should be available.

Accidents can happen. For instance,
- a naive young girl who doesn't have access to birth control might have unprotected sex one time with her boyfriend. He might promise to pull out. Or she might think she is in the safe part of her menstrual cycle. Just because a woman has a uterus, she shouldn't be forced to carry a pregnancy to term if she doesn't want to.
- Sometimes contraception can fail.
- Then there is incest and non-consensual sex. Those kinds of assaults often can't be proven.

Some people don't think women should have sex at all unless they are married. I think that's barbaric.
Women should have easy access to contraception (not just condoms) so that they can enjoy sex.

I certainly don't encourage abortion. But sometimes it is the most sensible option.

I have zero problem with the day after pill or with chemical abortion that can be performed up to 8 weeks after her last period. I don't even have any problem with abortion up to the end of the first trimester when the fetus hasn't yet developed a brain, nervous system or consciousness. It can feel nothing.

Some states have passed such draconian anti-abortion legislation that it is impossible to get an abortion even if the fetus is nonviable and the mother's life is in jeopardy. I think that is sadistic.

I would be in favor of medical protocols that regulate elective, later term abortions. But religious nuts and government should stay out of women's business. I think abortion laws are unconstitutional.

I personally think abortion should be available in certain instances. Like someone said, it is a medical procedure that can be used for legitimate reasons. My question is, where do YOU draw the line? The right constantly gets told how evil they are that they'd let a woman die instead of letting her abort a pregnancy but VERY few Republicans feel that way. The vast majority of Republicans would allow abortion's under certain circumstances. The problem I have, is the left is never asked when is abortion NO LONGER an option or when should it NEVER be an option? If the baby is going to be born with down syndrome, should the pregnancy be terminated? Can the mother choose to abort a baby in the ninth month? Should there actually be a limit on abortions or will it actually become a form of birth control? No one is asking or answering these questions. Why? Because the left doesn't know how to answer them. What limits would you, personally put on abortions?

It is madness to propose we allow people to dehumanize and kill other people simply because they find them personally inconvenient as a result of their own choices. Like it or not we exist as humans from the moment of conception when our DNA is first formed, that is the scientific fact.

If you wish to deny people the right to life to avoid inconveniencing those who had made themselfs responsible for the same by their own actions. You are in fact drawing a line defining the terms of everyone else by which their right to life will be respected.

No indiviual can have that power or there is no respect for the right to life for any other. So the state must draw that line for everyone for it to exist for anyone.

With that fact established where we draw that line if not done consistent with all other life on earth at conception it must therefore be done at some other arbitrary point.

If that point is in fact arbitrary then soo too is the right to life.

The federal government does not have the power to regulate abortion rights. The US Constitution clearly states that any powers not specifically given to the federal government are reserved to the individual states, and that's where abortion rights are now, defined by each state.

Despite what the liberal media tries to tell people, SCOTUS did not rule against abortion rights in overturning Roe v Wade; it ruled to give that power back to the states, where it belongs. Nor will Trump do anything about establishing a nationwide abortion ban. Not only doesn't he have the power to do that, he has clearly stated, several times, that decision should remain with the states.

"Abortion rights" is too ambiguous. Women should have access to abortion under certain circumstances, but abortion should NOT be freely available to anyone regardless of circumstances as a form of after-the-fact birth control. Sadly, that is why 95% of abortions have been performed over the last 5 decades.
