It's a day early but here goes.
Who is a great role model for young men?
Answer can be anyone really. Famous or not.
Anonymous answers are off for this. I want serious answers only. I don't need this devolving into hatred towards either gender.

It has to be somebody positive that has morals values and ethics and doesn't talk crap about the other gender
When a kid likes hanging out with you it's because you don't talk crap and you don't talk about anybody you're a positive influence no matter what you can teach them about wrong and right
You can teach them about cause and effect you can teach them about love and how it is 10 times easier to be good than bad
And you don't have to be serious you just have to be firm you have to be yourself you don't want to be a hard ass because nobody's going to learn anything that way except for that
You have to be able to talk to them in a way that is fun and they're not getting a lecture and they're not being told what to do you got to be able to crack jokes and not make everything so serious and you have to be their friend and they have to be able to feel that energy coming from you and knows that they're speaking from their heart
You have to be able to answer their questions and not making a bad guy or a bad person or blaming putting the blame on somebody else
You have to teach him sometimes some things just happen there are out of your control and it's how you deal with it is going to be your best way to handle things if you're crazy and out of control and you can't think when you're speaking then things are going to go right if you calm and you understand things that are big deals but not that big of a deal you can get through anything you just have to be able to want to sometimes you just have to take the pain and that's okay because it just makes you stronger person but it also depends on a lot of other things that you just have to be a positive influence and let them know that you always be there for them if they ever need anything and then in time you have to teach them they have to stand on their own two feet even though it hurts sometimes you got to still keep going forward. And love is the most powerful thing you got to be able to look at both sides no matter what just because you think you're right doesn't mean that you are right but yeah anybody that's just a caring loving person is best mentor and if they can laugh and smile and joke at the same time you're talking to them
And no matter what you have to realize that the kids likes you for some reason and so no matter what you have to be on your best behavior and show them who to be in the world no matter what happens that you'll get through it and you don't talk about anybody in a negative way because you're going to try to emulate you just like you so you have to give them positive input no matter what you're doing or talking about
He should be your father, as mine was to me.
The ideal is having as many role models as possible. Have this person as a role model for academic or professional success and that person as role model for being a good partner and another for being a good father, friend, etc. You rarely get to find a person who is a good role model for everything.
My dad was an amazing role model for my brother and me. He became a single parent when I was just a year old and my brother was two. The sacrifices he made in his life to keep us a family and to constantly be a part of our life while growing up are immeasurable. I see him in my brother every time I see him, his loyalty, work ethics, love for his family and his overall kindness. I love and admire both of them a lot!
👍👍👍👍👍
My dad. He is just awesome. He doesn't have any sons, just me and my sister, but he would be a great role model for anyone.
His values are something to be passed on.
He raised an amazing daughter that's for sure.
It's Abby's dad that's the role model lol.

Obviously, as other's have mentioned, my dad raised amazing men and was a great role model. Outside of family, I had a soccer coach that inspired and influenced an entire generation of young men in our city. I had a lot of respect for him as someone that played for him but what I didn't know, is he volunteered his time to mentor boys. After I graduated, there was a big write up about him and how many of those kids he coached and taught succeeded and continue to succeed. I knew him as a very humble and passionate person but had no idea he was a mentor and role model to so many young men. Shout out to Coach Gassel!
Hope none of these lads are Trumpsters, Beckybooboo !!!
Their father, or possibly a trusted relative, uncle, grandfather, etc...
Father's are ideally a young man's best role model, in a perfect world we could learn most of what we need to know about being a man from Dad. The one or two guy friends I know who didn't have a father figure present when they were growing up struggle with "how to be men" as adults. It's not difficult to spot.
Child Psychologist's also contend that boys (and girls) develop the majority of their confidence from their father's.
If we are talking about celebrities, perhaps Keanu Reeves? It can be hard to tell who is genuinely a good role model with celebrities because some put on a positive persona in front of the camera, but are actually awful people in real life. I know that Keanu has donated quite a bit to various charities without touting it in public like most celebrities do. Otherwise, he seems quite humble despite his fame and doesn't take himself too seriously.
I think Keanu would definitely be a great role model.
Depends on the type of man a guy needs to be, male archetypes all need to be grounded in virtue and strength, but have very different roles and needs based on if they are warriors, builders, sages, or poets, etc.

A perfect man would have a combo of multiple archetypes, but it's rare that you get that in one person. That's why Jesus was referred to as the Lion and the Lamb.
It's kind of like if Jocko Willink and Mr. Rogers could exist in the same body.

Since domestic abuse is unfortunately so prevalent in our society, in my opinion it's important for boys as they're growing up to see men treating women with respect. That would help keep the chain of abuse from recycling. re-state//background_color_rgba (0, 0, 0, 0), font_color_rgb (77, 77, 77), justifyLeft
Definitely my dad, without question. He definitely gave me the courage and encouragement to go for my dreams and never be afraid to fail, as long as I know I tried my hardest. Most of what I fought for became a reality. I have no complaints. He also gave me my tolerance for alcohol. 🥂 To those wonderful fathers in our lives!
The times I met him, I could tell where you got your weird sense of humor from right away. 🤪
A father figure, teacher, principal, local town doctor, and everyone in between since it takes a village to raise a kid to be dignified, strong, smart, a critical thinker, and a speaker for the voiceless. That no matter where you come from, what you believe in, or who you respect you’ll be given a chance, a voice, and a healthy stream of support from your peers. You matter!
Not all fathers (or mothers) are good role models, but the best role model for young men is always a good father. Unfortunately a lot of boys grow up without one these days. I was (still am) lucky to have a great father. He is the best human being I know.
None. Why would you model yourself after someone else? Just decide early in life what you want out of life and align your character with what you want. It's that simple. Most men are losers. Even the kind men are losers. Most women are losers. Don't ever have a hero. Be your own damn hero. Period.
Probably their father. He doesn't have to be the best father out there. Just be there if at all possible. Every day. Too many kids miss it on this in my opinion.
Worth a lot more than the latest YouTube starlet with his cute hair and idealised doctrine.
Not me. I don't watch any TV or follow the news much... But I think the ideal role model isn't on there for them, it's someone in their life like a teacher, a boss, maybe even someone their age that is doing better than them that they can learn from.
My grandfather (father of my father). A righteous but also warm and caring man.
I had a difficult relationship with my father. Something I try to remedy now that I have a teenage daughter. She knows I'll always be there for her.
Tim Walz is still gonna be that guy to me. he's definitely a wife guy, respectful to everyone man or woman and he gets you pumped to try your best. just what men need! a kick in the pants to be better versions of themselves
It's unfortunate we are likely not going to see as much of him now that he's no longer on the campaign trail. i sure hope he considers a run in 2028.
Me too. Good guy.
My dad was a good role model. He worked hard all his life. Instilled good values in us kids. He did without just so we can have the things we needed
He did a great job raising a great son.
You're great
I know a lot of people say dads but I feel brothers, uncles and grandpa’s can contribute just as much.
T try I be honest in these days it seems the mother is the great role model because a lot of men aren’t stepping up and being the dad they should be. Almost any guy can make a baby but only the real men become dads and role models.
My hats off to the mothers….
I agree with a lot of people who already commented. Dad should be the first and most important role model for a young boy/man.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, of course.
I mean, His legacy, shall we disregard all the religious aspects, pretty much amounts to:
"Achieve domination, then wield it with grace. Just because you are in the driver's seat does not mean you should run people over. Just because you've got the biggest gun does not mean everyone else is a shooting range target. Use your power for the greater good, not to achieve your own ends. Also, lad by example, not by brute force."

I don't know... He had a temper... Ask the money changers in the temple... And a bit defiant leaving and not telling anyone where he was... I'm not convinced
Donald J. Trump! JK! That's the antithesis.
My first choice for any role model is usually Marcus Aurelius, but I think in this case we can make an exception since his son was commodus...
Let's go with a Confucius & Aristotle fusion
Men learn from, and follow in the the footsteps of, their father, whether he's an ideal role model or not.
Ideally it should be family. Their father, their grandfather, uncle, etc.
Any man who has been well-cared for during childhood?
Good answer
anyone who teaches them useful skills AND emotional intelligence
Roy Orbison, he never did drugs or alcohol and was well respected by everyone.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/vWFjJWVDhNwI'd say his father and grandfather.
Although since I've lost all my children, I've been known to take some young people under my wing to get them started.
It depends... some people without dads will conspire towards anyone they feel inspired by. The guy down the street. Some guy there mother knows. Most people don't even know it. Always be prepared for that to be you.
Someone that has the following characteristics
Honest
Compassionate
Considerate of others
Hard working
Protective
My dad is a good role model. My grandfather was a good role model.
I love my dad but I don't idolize him.
My mom is not a better role model but was around more when I was growing up. My dad worked while my mom was a homemaker.
His father ideally, but if not, hopefully he has a good male role model he knows personally.
Obama's got to be up there, right?
Absolutely in my opinion.
Not Trump, Vance, Nicky Fuentes or CLB, that's certain !!!
The one with emotional maturity and the ability to teach the young generation tradecrafts.
Mandy , probably not the guy that you're currently having sex with but there are guys out there that really truly want to make these little guys have a better life then they currently have.
The guy I'm currently having sex with is my boyfriend and he'd be an amazing role model.
Of the Popular ones currently on the scene, I would say someone like Jordan Peterson or Nick Freitas.
My Dad. Men are the only people that can teach boys to be men.
I think my pops is a great role model
Arnold
Any Arnold?
I gotcha
Tim Walz
the top G Andrew Tate
Men are truly doomed if that is the number one role model lol.
I guess women are as well if that's who men are learning from on how to treat us.
Samwise Gamgee.
Father.
I think only rich dad can do with his $$$.
