Is society at large lacking good male role models?

Bonus question for the guys. Do you consider yourself a good male role model? Give reasons why boys and young men should follow you as an example.

I hate to be that guy but I feel society is lacking good males…. Period. Men now days are castrated by society. Testosterone is bad, masculinity is toxic, bla bla bla. It’s all crap. It all feeds into the “men can be girls and girls can be men” BS. A man is a man and no woman can be a man and visa versa. Don’t get me wrong there are weak men and strong woman but on average men are stronger, women smarter (sorry guys I believe on average this is true).
But back to the actual question… yes there are no real good men role models these days.
My day was in WWII. There were many good role models who came out of that era. My favorite was a war hero named Audie Murphy. A little guy who when the men in his platoon were pinned down and the Germans were moving in for the kill Audie jumped up on a burning tank and used its machine gun to hold back the advancing German army. Not only did he hold them back he made them retreat saving the surviving men in his platoon. For this he was awarded the Medal of Honor. By the end of the war he earned 28 medals! When he got him Hollywood offered him a job in movies.

Yes, it's the stupid following the stupid. A role model should be somebody who has a positive influence on others and does meaningful things to improve themselves and other people.

I am a writer and with my writing I can be a positive role model. I always encourage others to write because words are the gateway to your emotions. I may sound like a dreamer but I always encourage people to follow their dreams because in all reality, people who believe that it's a waste of time chasing something you may not know that you'll ever get, they're not trying. At least if you try, you'll know for sure.

I've worked hard on the seven novels I've written this past year, which four of them are part of a book series about time travel and death. Even working hard, you may never succeed but if you don't try, you'll never know. A person who wants something bad enough won't give up. I felt like giving up so many times sometimes it's other positive role models that has gotten me through my own doubts.

My advice to anybody who is trying to do something with their life, even if it's writing a book or trying to succeed in something else, never under any circumstances listen to other people when they tell you that you're wasting your time and that you're a dreamer. Inventions are built on dreams, creations are built on dreams, dreams is where it all starts.

No. Honesty is bad in the USA. Why do you think pawn shops sell broken old shit for an inflated price? Because there are no shortage people who WILL pay for it. Same as cartels. They could have a mountain of dope, but it'd be worthless if there weren't millions of people who will do ANYTHING to get their product. Supply and demand. In American history, honest, genuine people don't live very long. The become revered in death... but in life-theyre despised by the masses. If honesty were rewarded and wanted, then that's what guys would give them. Why did Bill Clinton lie about his constant cheating? Because he got reelected anyway. Why did GW lie his ass off from the very beginning? Because he knew he'd get reelected anyway. Ross Perot tried to tell the truth... it got him nowhere. Malcolm told the truth. It got him a bullet. Service told the truth. It got him a bullet. If I were a politician, I'd do exactly what they're doing... people don't WANT honesty in America, and this site is a microcosm of it... ask a question, but if the answer isn't what the asked wants to hear? 👇👇👇, Insulted, blocked. The lack of male role models is because the ones that ARE idolized... are what people WANT. They'll reelect them, buy their products, watch their shows, buy their jerseys, listen to their songs, etc. America is finished. They've done it to themselves. They got what they wanted.

I think you can survive without a male family guide if you have an accountability partner that you can keep you dedicated and devoted to the idea of living a productive and beneficial life. I had 13 health issues when I was in my last year of high school and if I didn't have two parents two scream at me and yell at me for not trying hard enough every single hour of the day, I would never have gotten accepted into any college or university at all cause I had to work 8 times harder to get into university because of the health problems I had, and one of my 13 health problems was cancer.

I think society is lacking sane people that actually know what any good role model is. A man that wants to be a woman and dominate womens sports is not a good role model. A drug addict that commits crimes and eventually gets killed by police is not a good role model. A man that works hard and provides for his WIFE, yes, I said wife, and children is a good role model. You don't have to be arrogant or provocative or controversial, you just have to be hard working, honest and caring. We no longer care about those people. Now a days, in order to be a role model, you have to end up on the 5 o'clock news for doing something most people think is stupid!

Society as a whole is going down the toilet. Too many people are only interested in what they can get and not what they can do to improve things.

I di think I would make a fairly good role model. I am 100% honest in everything I do and say and dedicated to my family. I have worked most of my life in jobs that help people. I have worked emergency services and been a volunteer firefighter. I have worked as a safety officer dedicated to injury prevention and looking after thise that were unfortunately injured. I think I portray the type if person that others look up to and want to be like.

To be quite honest Yes, Western society is lacking Good Male Role Models, mainly because any man who sticks his head above the parapet gets vilified by the Main Stream Media, Leftist politicians and the 'Feminists', unless those men have sufficient wealth to allow them to tell the Main Stream Media, Leftist politicians and the 'Feminists' to 'go pound sand'. Any other men have to do the best they can being a role model while staying below the radar of the Main Stream Media, Leftist politicians and the 'Feminists', but some times staying below the radar is not an option, like Daniel Penny in New York who must now suffer the slings and arrows of those who are cowards and do not have the guts to do what needs to be done.

There's plenty of good role models out there. They're many of our fathers and grandfather's, and maybe older brothers or cousins. Our society thinks famous people only matter so that could be why people think there aren't good examples out there. Not that some famous people are good but everyday men are setting good examples. Are we receiving them or ignoring it is a different question.

That stuff alone makes me a better role model than most. However, I still have more work to do. But in the end I don't think there will be a better role model than me.
And all I did was repel... Turns out repelling is being good these days because everyone is going in the other direction.

I think society does not reward being a man anymore. You can take the shortcut or the easy way out and still get to the same place you want to be without really standing for anything anymore. Before guys had personal pride, and society would shame you for not acting like a man. Not anymore! Today everyone needs to be accepted and needs a hug just for participating.

Yes, definitely. It's very obvious how men are told be feminine and women are being encouraged to be masculine. People with spine and guts to speak the right things exist but they are very rare.

Yeah and part of that is because of the decline of religion. Philosophy like Nietzsche and Plato will never be popular enough to take it's place. Nietzsche said Christianity was Plato for the masses. Now we have internet influences who are essentially quoting philosophers but in a "cool" way without mentioning their names.

Religion is key. Even Alexander looked up to Hercules.
