Gavin Newsom is the first one that comes to mind. He's clearly a sociopath, but I genuinely don't believe he believes in the stuff he says. Hell, even during the covid stuff, he pushed aggressive government restrictions and didn't follow them himself. And cheating on his wife with his close friend's wife is next level sociopathic behavior.

I don't need to diagnose something to be able to identify it. If someone has a snapped arm, I can't diagnose a displaced fracture, but I can point out the obvious. Newsom is obviously a sociopath. I can only guess about the conservative thing. He could also just have no values whatsoever and he hides behind leftist values to look virtuous. Sociopaths almost always hide behind an identity that they've learned is socially accepted.

It's not even about being a double agent. Just taking advantage of the population from your jurisdiction. It's not like Gavin Newsom could have gotten anywhere in SF and CA as a conservative. So all he had to do was fake some political stances and make his way to power.

Honestly that was just a guess, but now that I think about it, I don't think he has any political ideologies at all. That's why his bullshit seems so disingenuous. I was initially thinking it's because he was conservative and pretending to be a leftist, but now it seems like he just picked what was most socially acceptable in his jurisdiction so that he can use it to take value.

Another reason that I initially said conservative is that his ex wife is a famous conservative lady. Donald Trump Jr's fiance. I forgot her name.

I think he (Newsom) is a bit slick and opportunistic. But not conservative - at least not until California swings that way. He has actually done a good job of vetoing some of the crazier shit put out by the California legislature, which is totally out of touch with the people of the state.
