Wanted to point out too... what about the elderly lady who was sentenced to federal prison for "blocking" access to an abortion clinic? What about some of the non-violent Jan 6 protesters? What about some of the other American's sitting in prison for ridiculous convictions?

In a way, yes.

No serious person didn't assume Hunter would get a pardon. Anybody working in news media or political podcasts, etc acting surprised is being performative.

The bigger issue is that the pardon includes even crimes that he hasn't even been prosecuted, let alone sentenced for. This isn't normal for the presidential pardon, and the one noteworthy exception is Nixon, for which it was very likely part of a deal made behind closed doors as a condition for his resignation from office. It seems very likely that the pardon had less to do with bailing out Hunter, and more about trying to protect other people involved in overseas rackets and FARA violations, most notably members of the Obama and Biden administration. There are also insider leaks alleging that Hunter's lawyer has been threatening Joe behind the scenes to give a pardon or else he would testify against his dad, which is probably true. I also think it's probably true that Joe didn't think he'd need a pardon earlier in the year and wasn't lying.

I was arrested because the girl's father had connections to law enforcement due to being a paramedic in that area. I was 21 at the time. It happened 7 months later after a girl told me she never wanted to see me again and I was unable to verify contact with her for those 7 months. My intent was not malicious whatsoever. I plead no contest as a plea bargain to avoid a possible 7 year max prison sentence. I was given 3 months supervised probation and lost my EMT license.

Meanwhile, there are illegal aliens and people committing more serious crimes that get a slap on the wrist.

I think we should all agree to leave everyday Americans alone who have opposing political ideologies and to not target, harrass, or use lawfare tactics against them for politically-motivated reasons.
