I'm curious to see where most Gaggers land on the political spectrum. What would you consider yourself to be?

I see people posting a lot of political questions and opinions, but I'm just curious about where the majority of people here land.

I consider myself to be very conservative

I consider myself to be conservative leaning

I consider musself to be independent/neutral

I consider myself to be liberal leaning

I consider myself to be very liberal

I have what I call 1960s-70s liberal values that supported things like peace, love, tolerance, fairness and justice, liberty and freedom, distrust of authority, and opposition to wars of aggression.

I believe in the principles laid out in the Declaration of Independence and I strongly support the Bill of Rights.

Modern liberalism has become antithetical to my values. And the Democratic party has become dastardly.

About the only thing with which I agree with Democrats is the right to abortion.

I don't like the Republican party much, but they are better than the Democrats these days.

I don't fall anywhere on the continuum between the Democratic left and the Republican right. Whenever I take a political ideology test, I fall into the left-libertarian (libertarian-socialist) quadrant.

I support freedom but oppose right-wing laissez faire economics.

I am not aligned with either political party. I don't care about consensus. I don't follow any herd. I don't fit into a nice neat box and labels don't describe me. I develop opinions on individual issues based on what I know. I can revise or change my opinions as more information becomes available.

Because I have my own opinions on individual issues and don't follow any political ideology, liberals think I am conservative and conservatives thing I'm liberal.

Interestingly, I find it much easier to get along with conservatives these days than with modern liberals. Liberals/Democrats condemn you if you disagree with them about anything. Conservatives have more of a live and let live attitude.

Just for clarification "liberal" is still an insult for hardcore leftist. At least in America. We consider them milk toast corporation conservatives that aim for the status que. Holding only slightly more value into any and all anti "riot taxes" also called safety nets for society.

I would love to understand what makes folks say neutral or independent because I am not sure if there's a way to be exactly in the middle but I am not saying it's impossible. I am curious as to what that means politically for those folks. For ex what are your beliefs on social and policies.

Depends on topic and my personal interest if I'm left or right leaning. People like to categorize others. As example if you support abortions you need to support illegal immigration, but why is the one automatically connected with another?

@AviatorTom I am genuinely interested in what views to you lean left and right on. I think more folks are like yourself but I never get an understanding of where someone like yourself splits off left and right. I think it's important to recognize many people are like this.

@Friendlybro79 On the liberal side: 1) I'm in favor of legalized abortion up until fetal viability outside the womb (around 28 weeks gestation); 2) I'm in favor of Social Security and Medicare for seniors, but not for everyone.
On the conservative side: 1) I'm all for less government and 2) a flat tax rate that everyone pays
