Biology.
Biology can't make decisions or tell people what it decided. If you believe a child's gender should be decided based on biology, okay, but WHO do you think should make that decision (based on biology)?

Who can look at a child's parts and tell the difference upon birth? How do you answer that question if there isn't a hospital, no doctor, no nurse, the baby is born in the bush away from civilization? How do remote peoples deep in forests or savannahs know?
How does the entire world, even with the different cultures, different belief systems, different languages, different values know? How did people know in the past (and I mean past past, not a couple hundred years ago kinda past)? How did they make the determination between hunter and gatherer?
Years ago there was a story of a woman in Mozambique, who gave birth in a tree because of flooding. How do you think she figured out the baby's gender?
Hunters and gatherers weren't separated by gender. Not all cultures or time periods separated gender just by genitals. I'm asking you about the society and culture you live in, not about the whole world. Why would your opinion matter to how the whole world did something? You don't even live in or know about most of it. So again please just explain what you meant. If your answer is the person who gave birth to the child should do it, that's fine. Is that what you meant?

If you grow up as a man and choose to LIVE as if you are the opposite sex, you are free to do so. That is evidence that you have a mental disorder but you are free to live out this disorder but in truth you are a man or woman. A man choosing to live as if they are a woman is still a man. A man pretending and living their life as if they are the other.
So you believe gender SHOULD exist, and SHOULD be decided for children at birth. Okay. Thanks for clearing that up. Now if you could just answer my original question of who you believe should make that decision? Most people who avoided the question similar to you have have ended up explaining that they think the doctor should decide based on the child's genitals. Is this also what you think?
You are jabbering and speaking in circles.
When you are born, you have a penis and scrotum between your legs. The doctor will put boy on the birth certificate. If you have a vulva/vagina between your legs the doctor will put girl on you BC because you are a girl.
Just like mankind has rightly done for THOUSANDS OF YEARS!!!

You think all humans on the earth in 1411, when a baby was born with a penis didn't know they had a boy? Do you think people in 1702 had babies with penises that they put into dresses and named Mary? Or babies born in 1500 with vaginas that they named Peter and sent out hunting in long pants.

So you personally should decide every single child's gender in the whole world? Be serious now. Doctors are first to see babys genitals after birth, so I assumed you meant they should decide. If you didn't mean that then just explain who you do mean. Stop being difficult and just answer the question.
The doctors aren't deciding anything. They just have eyes can see what what the baby's genitals are. It's a matter of fact.
People can usually see If an individual is a man or a woman because they know what a man and woman looks like. Have you ever seen a man and a woman? They look very different.

First, gender isn't as black and white as we think. Doctors do usually make the official registry after birth. But it's a cursory glance st the privates to check the tackle box and that's all they do.
Second, not sure we need to change it per se. Just back off from thinking that's a permanent fix. Not even a person's name is permanent.
And doctors can see patients without really going by "genders". Just buy medical history and ailments. Sure a trans female will have issues of a male at her age. But that's doc patient shit.
Why we need to regulate any of this?
