The amount of anti European rules the "EU" has made really makes you question what the EU was even formed for. The amount of poisons they've reintroduced into food after their 2008 ruling that every member has to adopt their standards. The mass immigration they've made MANDATORY. The censorship they enforce while claiming they protect "Free Speech". The school curriculum that has acted as a boon for perverts to push their agendas, WTF have they done that's good?

I'll be rude and go point by point on that.
1. Tariffs reduce income tax, which are OUT OF CONTROL in the EU
2. How is a borderless world... good. You stupid?
3. That's just a way for the rich to get richer, buddy. God help you when populous countries in utter poverty get membership into the EU.
4. Backed by... what... a large common military... that will literally cause untold death from WW3, which is completely avoidable without the EU and 100% UNAVOIDABLE with the EU
5. Laws are 100% dependent on the customs of the area you're in and cannot be standardized without consequences

2. Who is talking about the world? Your question is about the EU, which has outer borders.

Just as a casual opinion: There are geopolitical reasons + the UK voted in favour of Brexit in 2016. I think there's an element of elitism among "parliamentarians", if you will, justifying concern about how the EU is governed. Those with EU citizenship might justify its existence on the basis of international travel and making it more streamlined. I don't hold EU citizenship so it doesn't influence how I elect to do things in quite the same way.

Hell, yes! I liked being able to order things from anywhere in the EU and not have to pay exorbitant customs fees or fill out annoying forms. I'm old enough to remember having to get new currencies in every country you travelled to, it was a nightmare (imagine each state having it's own version of the dollar).

It's not perfect, it could do with a few tweaks, so that people can afford to retire in the country they've worked in, for example, and not have their wages undercut by people who will retire to the much cheaper countries they came from. How to achieve that is another question.

They also ignored the sensible rules for joining the Euro, leading to terrible problems a while ago.
