Would you put aside your ideology to support AOC's bill?

My response: BAN Congressmen from trading & owning stocks! Ban it! Ban it! Ban it!
I do want to make clear, this bill 99.9% won’t pass since Republicans AND Democrats have made millions off of this scheme and wouldn’t want to ruin a good thing…. IF The Bill reached The Senate, Senators would pass it since it doesn’t stop them from trading also President Biden would sign it if it was resolved in time leading to the bill’s passage though 99.9% won’t pass the Congress, tough luck and I’m pissed.
*They are public servants and can’t sway their decisions based on stock trades. Period.
In addition, we should fight away campaign contributions & lobbyists & schemers so we can get public servants that have their back for us!
I would but my ideology supports this completely. I don't like corruption and I won't condone it, not that what I do and think matters.
Fuck yes I would. Politics has a direct effect on stocks and bonds, it means blocking that would encourage politicians to make decisions that focused less on lining their pockets by finding the right stocks to sell and more on the voices of their constituents.
Ooop that won't make the red side of the aisle happy. Next they need to stop doctors from taking fat Christmas bonus checks from insurance companies in exchange for screwing over patients.

if that bill passes I am moving to Mars without a space suit... lol
That bill sounds good on the surface. The problem being. Just like Polosi said. We never discussed insider deals. But I might have left the paperwork lying on the kitchen table.
So how far on the family tree and friends would be banned from inside information?
tempting. how such people going to get rich then? that ain't gonna fly... you mean they serve the public without getting rich? Then what?
I understand the intent but pension funds often involve securities ownership. Maybe they should be limited to mutual funds that reduce insider trading or influence for legislation.
sure if it screws over Nancy Pelosi
now would you put aside your ideology and support mass deportations of murderers, rapists, drug dealers and sex traffickers?
sure but if someone in the family is a murderer or rapist, you would be ok with separating them from their family, right?
@msc545 what if the prisons overflow? are you ok with your taxpayer dollars housing and feeding non-citizens?
@msc545 what are you on about? the Left are the ones in bed with the military industrial complex right now sending billions of dollars to Ukraine and Gaza every year
@goaded lmao "thousand billion in a million"? you can't even do math properly and you came in here trying to lecture me on it. yeah that's liberal education for you at its finest
@goaded if you're gonna try and lecture me, at least get your words right first
@goaded oh I understand completely. what's your point? just a bunch of irrelevant math?
@goaded "billions" is plural you simpleton. that includes numbers into the trillions as well
I'm not even disagreeing with him on how the money is being spent, only who is supporting what and he thinks its the Right who wants these stupid proxy wars
@goaded yeah they did. that's why Trump is draining the swamp and getting rid of the warmongering neocons from the Right and forced them to join the Left
The right also started the Korean war and started many other smaller wars as well. Profit is a fundamental part of right-wing ideology and it isn't going to go away based on silly statements about draining the swamp and the like which simply political marketing.
It's very important to the the defense industry in the United States that the United States has involvement continuously in at least one or more wars for as long as possible. This can be a direct involvement, although that tends to arouse negative public sentiment? Or it can be a proxy of war like Ukraine, where the US is responsible for starting the war and US defense contractors are able to sell weaponry to combatants such as they do to Israel and such as they do to Ukraine and such as they do to Israel. The US did not start the war in Israel, but it did start the war in Ukraine.
So of course it is in the interests of the US defense contractors to keep these wars going and to the extent that they are able to exert political influence in that regard they do so primarily by donating money do the right wing which also includes Republican legislators.
Additionally, there is also another method by which the right wing causes tax money to be essentially donated to US defense contractors. Right-Wing legislators vote to donate tax money to countries such as Israel and the Israelis in a tacit agreement. Go to US defense contractors where they use that money to purchase large amounts of weaponry and defense contractors. Then profit greatly from those purchases. What is not said but is implied is that the efforts of legislators to donate tax money to the country involved in this case? Israel are contingent upon Israel's purchase of webinary because the money is actually intended initially for US defense contractors. The legislature cannot give money directly to private companies but can give money to a country that essentially promises to be customers of the Private company. Additionally in doing this, US legislators ensure that their re-election efforts will be well financed by the right wing.
@msc545 ah yes, why take my opinion seriously yet you and 2 others replied
@msc545 The Left starts wars too. they're both in bed with the military industrial complex, UN and Zionist Israel at the least Right was until Trump took over and is getting rid of the neocons like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger
I never said the Right was innocent in this. if you think I'm a huge fan of George Bush and Dick Cheney then you're gravely mistaken. both are war criminals as far as I'm concerned
@goaded Biden allowed the war to happen. this is a fact. he and Kamala left $80 billion worth of military equipment and 13 dead soldiers back in Afghanistan and no one on the Left is holding them accountable
Actually opinion owner. The only reason to take anything that you said here with a grain of seriousness is that we have a duty to not let your lies stand because others might think that we agree with you. Past that all you have been doing like most right-wing adherents is spouting bullshit.
@msc545 ah so just disagree completely with the "right-winger" just to appear anti-right without holding any true opinions of your own. got it
"$80 billion worth of military equipment" Bullshit. I suppose you think they should have taken away all the training, roads, and buildings?
What it is with the right wing and lying about the magnitude of things? ↗
"THE FACTS: Those numbers are significantly inflated, according to reports from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, or SIGAR, which oversees American taxpayer money spent on the conflict.
... that funding included troop pay, training, operations and infrastructure along with equipment and transportation over two decades, according to SIGAR reports and Dan Grazier, a defense policy analyst at the Project on Government Oversight. "

I think I can speak for @msc545 as well as myself when I say our opinion is that you're simply spouting debunked right wing lies.
Unfortunately you'll keep doing it even knowing you're lying.
@goaded haha! nothing screams "debunking" than using lies to debunk "lies"
@oddbeme that's what they said last time and we didn't lose trillions on trade wars under Trump. try again
@msc545 Democrats sold the Americans out years ago. Trump is cleaning up their mess. No shit Trump is a Republican, he's also a former Democrat like Elon, RFK, Tulsi and many others. Democrats suck with money. all liberal governments around the world suck with money.
@oddbeme you can bring up whatever useless numbers you want to justify liberals being better with money. fact of the matter is, things were more affordable under Trump than under Obama or Biden
lol caused by Trump? are you sure it wasn't Biden who kept Americans in lockdown and mandated jabs or risk losing their jobs? oh wait, he did
you might as well accuse Trump of creating covid too
@msc545 yeah no Trump was taking advice from Dr Fauci who was all over the place. even when Trump recommended the vaccine first, liberals were heavy anti-vaxxers until Biden recommended the vaccine. double standards at its finest. Trump and Biden give the same advice but only Trump gets the criticism and Biden gets a free pass.
Hey opinion owner, everything you just said is a lie. Liberals were never against vaccines. Fousey did change his mind about things in a response to emergent research interests. Trump never took any advice from Fauci and the list of your lies just keeps on going. In many ways Trump is responsible for the deaths of close to 1 million Americans.
Everything that you said in regard to this is bullshit. You are a lying POS.
@msc545 just because you refuse the truth don't make it a lie. your TDS is starting to show really bad. you're too hell bent on wanting Trump to this Devil you wish he was
Absolutely but I hate to say it but bills like this are put forward and supported knowing that they won't pass. It's good political capital. You think Pelosi would support this?
If the bill was only as you just described, probably.
The fact that it's even a question for ANYONE says more about THEM than HER
Pelosi will have her killed for that suggestion, lol.
Yes, too bad it will never pass.
Good luck...
